Criminal Justice students had the opportunity to learn from Deputy Houston Paul and Deputy Cameron Riggins with the Maury County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, one specializing as a sniper and the other as a K9 handler. Students heard firsthand about their training, equipment, and experiences before getting the opportunity to put their own classroom learning into action.

Students practiced CQB (Close Quarters Battle) techniques and tactical building searches using training weapons, including skills we’ve been working on in class such as slicing the pie, identifying the fatal funnel, and movement, all under the direct supervision of the SWAT officers.

Such an awesome opportunity for our students to connect classroom instruction with real-world law enforcement training! We are so grateful to Deputy Paul, Deputy Riggins, and the Maury County Sheriff’s Office for taking the time to invest in our students and their education!

Ms. Cox’s STEM/Technology class took learning to the next level after reading “The Scarecrow”!

Our second graders were challenged to design and create a crow’s nest and then test their engineering skills by balancing the nest on two craft sticks while holding three marbles—the “eggs”!

Students had to think creatively, problem-solve, test their designs, and make adjustments to see if their nests could successfully balance.

What a fun way to connect reading, engineering, and hands-on STEM learning!

LITTLE WARRIORS CHEERLEADING!

Calling all Kindergarten–5th Grade students! The Culleoka Varsity Cheerleaders invite you to join the Little Warriors Cheerleader Team!

Cheer Clinic:
📅 September 28 & 29
⏰ 3:00–4:30 PM
📍 New practice facility behind the school

Students will learn cheers, dances, and cheer skills with the Culleoka Varsity Cheerleaders. They will also have one additional practice before performing at four basketball games during halftime.

🔵 Cost:
• 1st Year: $160 — includes full uniform, briefs, pom poms, and cheer clinic
• Returning: $90

🔵 Students should bring a snack and tennis shoes to the clinic. Changing clothes is optional.

🔵 Please sign up as soon as possible so uniforms can be ordered in time for the first performance.

🔵 Checks should be made payable to CHS Cheerleaders or cash may be submitted. Send the completed information form and payment to Mrs. Tiffany in the office.
