LIHEAP Winter Subsidy Heating Assistance Now Available
Kentucky households can apply for LIHEAP Winter Subsidy from January 6 to March 27, 2026, to help with heating costs during the colder months. Eligible households with income up to 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may qualify for a one-time benefit. This program covers heating costs for electric, natural gas, propane, coal, wood, or fuel oil. Benefits are paid directly to the energy vendor, and no disconnect notice or past-due bill is required to apply. Assistance received during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
