🥒🔬 Autopsy of the Pickle Lab! 🔬🥒
This week in Dr. Shidner’s class, students got hands-on with anatomy in a fun (and slightly messy!) way during their Autopsy of the Pickle Lab!
The goal wasn’t just to dissect a pickle—it was to build students’ confidence in using medical and anatomical terminology to describe the location of organs, structures, and trauma while also strengthening their dissection and observation skills.
Students practiced using directional terms and anatomical language to document their findings just like they would in a medical or forensic setting. 🧑⚕️🩺
Hands-on learning gives students the opportunity to take what they’ve learned from notes and apply it in a way they can see, touch, and explain. And sometimes, the best way to learn anatomy is to perform an autopsy on a pickle! 😂🥒
