🧀🏈 WELL, THIS IS AWKWARD… 🏈🧀

A bet is a bet, and here at the Midwest Center for Traffic Safety, we believe in accountability. Even when it requires us to wear green and gold. 🤦‍♂️

Congratulations to our friends at the Wisconsin Traffic Safety Officers Association! As promised, we’re proudly (and somewhat reluctantly) flying your colors for the next 24 hours.

While our football allegiances may divide us, our commitment to safer roadways brings us together. Whether it’s Illinois or Wisconsin, traffic safety doesn’t recognize state lines, and neither should cooperation.

After all, great partnerships are built on teamwork, mutual respect, and occasionally having to eat a little crow. Or in this case, cheese. 🧀😂

Enjoy your victory, Wisconsin. We’ll be back in navy and orange tomorrow.

🚨🏈 INTERSTATE TRAFFIC SAFETY ADVISORY 🏈🚨

ILLINOIS vs. WISCONSIN

The Midwest Center for Traffic Safety would like to issue a friendly advisory to our colleagues at the Wisconsin Traffic Safety Officers Association.

Tomorrow, the Chicago Bears travel north to Green Bay for another chapter of football’s greatest rivalry.

As a regional traffic safety organization headquartered in Illinois, we take great pride in our partnerships with Wisconsin’s law enforcement community.

However, we’ve come to accept that even highly trained traffic safety professionals occasionally demonstrate questionable judgment when it comes to choosing football teams. 🧀 😆

In the spirit of interstate cooperation, we’d like to propose a friendly wager:

🏈 THE BORDER BATTLE CHALLENGE

The losing team’s organization must:

🟠 Fly the winning team’s colors on its Facebook cover photo for 24 hours.

No excuses. No appeals.

Today, we join Chicago and football fans everywhere in remembering the legendary “Iron Mike” Ditka.

Coach Ditka was more than a Hall of Fame football player and Super Bowl-winning coach. He was a symbol of toughness, accountability, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

He believed in preparation, teamwork, discipline, and doing the little things right. He understood that success wasn’t built on individual talent alone, but on people coming together, accepting responsibility, and working toward a common goal.

At the Midwest Center for Traffic Safety, those principles resonate with our mission.

While our playing field looks a little different, we believe meaningful progress in traffic safety requires the same fundamentals: strong leadership, committed partnerships, consistent effort, and a willingness to hold ourselves accountable.

Whether we’re bringing law enforcement agencies together, advancing traffic safety education, or developing initiatives to make our roadways safer, we know that lasting success is a team effort.

Iron Mike helped define an era of Chicago sports. His passion, larger-than-life personality, and unmistakable leadership style will forever be part of the city’s identity.

So much learning is going on! Today, we completed the Advanced Truck Enforcement class in Carol Stream, gaining new perspectives on the interaction between the industry and law enforcement.

Meanwhile, Russo Power Equipment - Elgin, IL welcomed us to its Elgin store to educate its customers on cargo securement and crash mitigation—a big thank-you to Safety Management Success for assisting us with the presentation.
