Hancock County 4-H Shooting Sports

Our programs are valuable for helping young people develop self-confidence, personal discipline, responsibility, teamwork and helps build self-esteem.

Shooting sports curriculum is designed to assist young people in personal development, establish a personal environmental ethic and explore life-long vocational and avocational activities. The program uses experiential learning and positive interactions with youth and adult role models to help young people develop self-concept, self-assurance and a positive self-image. Shooting sports disciplines

include: Archery, Muzzleloading, Rifle, Shotgun, and Wildlife Skills. For more information on how to join, please contact the Hancock County Extension office.

Bullseye Bunch Shooting Sports Kick Off Meeting!

When: Sunday, November 12th 2:00-4:00pm
Where: Hancock County Extension Office
What: Come see what the Bullseye Bunch Shooting Sports Club has to offer and what the year could look like.
Also Ty and Travis Glidden will be there to share about the African safari hunt they did this past summer.

MEETING REMINDER!! Meeting this Saturday, Sept. 10th from 9:00am-11:00am. At Dan's House (1340 Hwy 18, Britt).
Elecection of officers and club meeting idea brainstorm followed by shooting if mother nature cooperates. If your planning to shoot please come in closed toe shoes.

IMPORTANT DATE CHANGE!!!
The shooting sports club meeting for this Saturday July 16 is being moved to SUNDAY JULY 24TH FROM 1-2:30pm. The meeting will still be at Dan's. Reminder you dont have to stay the whole time but please come dressed accordingly with closed toe shoes, we will provide everything else you need.

We had a great meeting today even though mother nature didn't quite cooperate like we had wished. Canoeing, campfire lagasna and mac and cheese, and a short hike to look for animal tracks. And a HUGE thank you to Jason and Ben with Hancock County Conservation for taking the time to teach the kids!

We spent the morning helping clean up Pilot K**b park to get it ready for the summer season. Thank you to all the kids and parents that came out to help today and thank you to the Friends of Pilot K**b for providing lunch.

MEETING REMINDER: This Saturday (May 7th) from 10:00am-12:30pm at Pilot K**b. Meet at site #43. PLEASE COMMENT BELLOW HOW MANY FROM YOUR FAMILY PLAN TO ATTEND. Adult are welcome to say, we need a rough head count for lunch being provided. Please RSVP by Thursday at noon.
Reminder to wear closed toe shoes, work clothes and bring gloves!

Last month the kids spent the afternoon shooting at the Mason City Mohawk Archery Club. We had some experienced shooters and some beginners but they all had a great time!
