Lord and Savior Ev. Lutheran Church and School

Lord and Savior Ev. Lutheran Church and School Lord and Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church is a WELS Lutheran church & Christian Day School (Pre-3). The school is closed for the 2019-2020 school year.

Worship services are Sundays at 9:00am, with Bible Class at about 10:30am. During Lent and Advent, midweek "Vespers" services are Wednesdays at 3:00pm. Lord and Savior Lutheran School and Preschool is a Lutheran Elementary School associated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Lord and Savior is nestled on the edge of Woodstock and Crystal Lake and features spacious grounds and facilities.

Next Sunday, September 13th, Lord and Savior Lutheran in Crystal Lake will continue its sermon series with the theme of "Unexpected Truths." That Sunday, Pastor Bramdeo Ramgolam's sermon will be based on Matthew 18:21-35, an interchange between Jesus and Peter about forgiveness. The sermon theme that day will be "Unexpected Truths -- Forgiveness is for Me."

The following Sunday, September 20th, Pastor Bram's sermon will be based on Jonah 3:10-4:11 -- a part of the story of the prophet Jonah that often gets ignored. After Jonah attempts to evade his assignment (to preach to Nineveh), after he is swallowed by the whale, when he finally preaches to the wicked city of Nineveh, the people there repent, and God forgives them... and Jonah doesn't like that one bit! God teaches Jonah a lesson about His grace. The sermon theme that morning will be "Unexpected Truths -- Grace is Amazing."

This coming Sunday, September 6th, Lord and Savior Lutheran in Crystal Lake will continue its new sermon series with the theme of "Unexpected Truths." That Sunday, the scripture readings all focus on believers' responsibility toward others, especially in sharing scriptural truth. Pastor Bramdeo Ramgolam's sermon will be based on Ezekiel 33:7-11, a passage where the Lord told Ezekiel that he would hold Ezekiel accountable if he didn't warn the Israelites about their sin. The sermon theme that morning will be: "Unexpected Truths – I Am My Brother’s Keeper."

Join us for worship as we explore an unexpected path, the one Jesus himself walked: the cross comes before the
crown.

Some churches teach that if a person follows God, God responds by granting prosperity and peace, as would only be expected. Today we see how that is nonsense. The Bible explains that if we are part of the Church of God, we will have to bear crosses.

We carry our crosses because we know that in those moments of struggle, we are forced to turn to Christ and
rely on his strength.
