Anthony Oster (Mount Caramel, TopTier ⚾️) is SFT’s July athlete of the month‼️
There’s a reason you’ve seen this guy all over the SFT Instagram stories - he’s here all. the. time. Even despite a busy baseball schedule all summer long, Anthony has made training a priority and is now reaping the benefits 👀💪🏼
We’ve even developed a plan for Anthony to come in for two-a-days: speed/power/explosive work in the mornings, followed by pure raw strength in the afternoons. Anthony has shown a level of dedication toward training that is rarely seen from a kid his age, and this work ethic is why there’s no doubt in our mind he’s going to do BIG THINGS📈
All throughout the last month, Anthony has been a constant force here at SFT which is why he’s truly earned the title athlete of the month 🫡

The Power of Consistency
Strength For Today Training
When it comes to fitness, like many things, consistency is key. Simply put: the individual who trains consistently over a long period of time will outperform the individual who trains (no matter the level of intensely) on-and-off over a long period of time. The goal doesn’t matter: whet

The coaches are the lifeblood of Strength For Today. Come meet the people who make SFT great🙌🏼
First, the founder: my name is Samuel Vree, and I am the founder and head trainer at Strength For Today. I started SFT in November of 2024 because it combines the two things I am most passionate about - fitness, and helping other people.
I grew up in Lansing, Illinois and developed a love for the weight room while I was in high school. My first exposure was going to the local fitness center with my brother. Throughout my time attending Illiana Christian High School, my passion continued to grow and I decided then and there - this was the career path for me. When I attended Hope College, I received my bachelors degree in exercise science while also playing four years of varsity basketball.
Following graduation, I decided to stay in Michigan, where I took an internship for a company called PowerStrength. I ended up staying there for approximately 2 years. Starting as an intern and making my way up to the athlete coordinator position, it was at PowerStrength that I learned the ropes of the fitness industry. I trained clients of all ages, from 5th grade all the way up to the senior population and every age in between. I started to learn the back end of the business. I boosted my knowledge through certifications. Essentially, I went through somewhat of a crash course that brought me to where I am now.
In 2023, I received a call from my father with news that would shake up my whole world - he wanted to help me start a gym. Knowing the frustrations I was facing, he asked if I would be interested in moving home and becoming business partners with him. It was an offer too good to pass up. I packed my bags and made my way back to Lansing.
After about a year of planning and looking for a space, we found 874 N Madison St - the perfect location. We applied, signed the lease and my life as a busy small business owner began. Now, I get the joy and privelage of living out my dream every day.
Next, introducing Strength For Today’s newest full time employee, Fletcher Bandstra!! Following college where he worked in a small gym called the Exercise Coach, Fletcher decided to move back home to continue his strength & conditioning career here at SFT. He started at the end of May and has been rocking & rolling ever since.
Born and raised in Schererville, Fletcher has always had a passion for fitness. After graduating from Illiana in 2021, Fletcher then went to study Kinesiology at Calvin University in Grand Rapids where he also pitched for their baseball team. After an injury that derailed his senior season, Fletcher ended up staying for a 5th year in order to pitch for his final year of his eligibility while earning his masters degree in Exercise Science with a specialization in Sports Performance.
Fletcher fits in like a glove here at SFT. He’s passionate about using his knowledge to help both our athlete and adult clients alike build a stronger & healthier future for themselves

Geoffrey McFarland (Hanover Central MS🏈) recently made the transition from our youth program up to our high school program and has been DOMINATING his training😤💪🏼
Geoffrey is a Strength For Today OG. He was one of our first ever youth athletes and it’s been a joy to watch him grow right before our very eyes. The differences are obvious - kettlebells have turned into barbells, boxes have gotten taller, weights have gotten heavier…the list goes on and on.
Most importantly, Geoffrey’s mentality towards training has grown stronger by the month. Leading into his football season, Geoffrey is determined to continue his progress via in-season training📈🚀
Keep up the great work, Geoffrey‼️🫡
