What does cross-training in Echo and EKG actually look like in practice?
For Lisa, a 2017 Cardinal Tech graduate and Echo-Vascular Registered Technician, it's just a normal week.
"A typical day could be 8 to 9 patients, sometimes more both echo and vascular, some days helping in the stress lab, and EKGs on the floor as well."
That kind of versatility doesn't just make you more valuable to your care team β it opens doors that a single certification alone won't. Lisa built that range by investing in her training, and it's paid off every day since.
"I honestly love everything about my job, interacting with the patients & my coworkers, everyday you learn something new. I'm so blessed to be where I am today!!"
If you're already working in Echo and want to expand your skill set, Cardinal Tech's Online EKG Course was built for people exactly like you.

A stable, long-lasting career starts with the right training.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the lowest 10% of cardiovascular technologists and technicians earned less than $37,890, while the highest 10% earned more than $108,900 as of May 2024.
The difference between the two ends of that range comes down to preparation, skill, and the quality of your training.
At Cardinal Tech, our Online EKG Course is built to put you on the right side of that range without putting your current life on hold.

This Memorial Day, we're honoring those who dedicated their lives to showing up for others.
That spirit of service doesn't end on the battlefield. It shows up in hospitals, clinics, and cardiology offices every single day β in the hands of the people who show up to care for patients who need them most.
If you're drawn to a career built around purpose, Cardinal Tech is where that journey starts.

Cardiac sonography isn't just about the equipment, it's about the people.
From walking patients to the exam room to consulting with physicians, cardiac sonographers are deeply involved with both patients and their entire care team.
Youβll offer reassurance to anxious patients, provide surgeons and cardiologists with the images they need to make critical decisions, and help physicians make early diagnoses that give patients a better chance at successful treatment.
It's a career that blends technical skill with real human connection β and the demand for it is only growing.
At Cardinal Tech, we train students to be both. π Take a virtual tour to see how. Link in bio.

One of our alumni, Lori, was worried that an online program wouldn't teach her enough for employers to hire her. She wondered if anyone would care about her certificate when she entered the job market.
She took the chance anyway, and became a successful Echo Tech. Seeing her own success led her to recommend Cardinal Tech to her twin daughters, two friends, and her niece. π
You don't have to feel 100% ready. You just have to be willing to start.

Most people have been hooked up to an EKG at least once in their life. But behind the monitor is a trained professional making sure every reading is accurate.
EKG Techs are responsible for proper electrode placement, observing cardiac rhythms, and catching changes that doctors need for diagnoses. Even a small positioning error can affect the results.
This is an impactful career that is faster to enter than most people realize.
