Mary Bachnak was named Advisor of the Year among all Business Professionals of America advisors in the state.
Shortly after, Bachnak also won Teacher of the Year at Crown Point High School and then Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Crown Point Community School Corporation in honor of her dedication to students and the relationships she builds with them.
“People don't care about how much you know until they know how much you care. That is every day. I wake up, and I sit on the side of my bed. I say a prayer, and when I’m finished with my prayer, I say it's time to be amazing, and it's not for me. It's for you. It's time to be amazing for you. It's time to make a connection with you. It's time to support you,” Bachnak said to senior Miles Warren, who served as BPA state president and now serves on the national committee.

Our AP Psychology students recently wrapped up their final project, Houses of Understanding! Each student researched a clinical disorder or neurological illness and transformed their learning into a symbolic house representing its symptoms and treatments. To complete the project, they designed a roof symbolizing hope, resilience, and the possibility of recovery. Students then shared their work in a gallery walk, giving peers the opportunity to learn from each other’s creative and meaningful projects.
