We had a great time at Bulldog Park this morning with the Crown Point Library during story time! Dr. Terrill read a book about Busy Bus, and our bus drivers hosted families as they explored two of our buses that are ready for school! Bus driver Ms. Betty even brought her bus with a wheelchair lift so everyone could see how it works.

CPHS students are earning more college credits and career credentials than ever before! More than one-third of CPHS students enrolled in AP courses last year, completing a school record 1,765 AP exams. Seventy-six percent of AP students earned a score of 3 or higher, continuing a four-year upward trend from 63% in 2022. Beyond increased participation, Crown Point students continued to outperform their peers across Indiana. CPHS exceeded the state average on AP exams in 21 different subject areas.

Advanced Placement is one piece of the broader academic opportunities available at Crown Point High School. Students can choose from 68 AP or dual credit courses alongside 72 career and technical education (CTE) courses, allowing them to customize their education based on their interests and career goals.

Over the past five years, CPHS students have earned enough dual credit to save families more than $11 million in future college tuition. Those opportunities extend well beyond traditional academic coursework. Through partnerships with Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University, and other higher education institutions, students can earn college credit in fields including automotive technology, construction, precision machining, engineering, and more.

While the district celebrates record AP performance, Superintendent Dr. Todd Terrill emphasized that academic rigor and career preparation work hand in hand. "The idea that college preparation and career preparation are separate is becoming more outdated," Terrill said. "Many of today's high-demand careers and skilled trades continue learning after high school through apprenticeships, industry certifications, or technical degrees with our college partners. Our goal has never been to prepare every student for the same future. We want every student to have opportunities that match their future."

Happy 4th to our community and country! Our buildings are closed today (Friday 3rd), but tomorrow we have multiple groups participating in the parade. CPHS arts and performing arts students, teachers, and parent volunteers have created and will be part of the premiere floats heading down Main Street.

America 250 in Crown Point is going to be a celebration for the history books!🇺🇸 This year's parade will feature 29 premier floats depicting the American story and historic Crown Point events. A huge thank you to all the businesses who volunteered to create these fabulous floats to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime milestone.🌟

Join us in wishing CPHS teacher Mrs. Cosme bon voyage as she spends part of her summer learning and working in the Pacific Ocean! As a Science Communication Fellow aboard the ship E/V Nautilus, Mrs. Cosme is helping connect the scientific team at sea with audiences around the world. She’s working alongside oceanographers, engineers, educators, and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) pilots to share the excitement of deep-sea exploration in ways that are engaging and easy to understand. While she's at sea, Mrs. Cosme is also creating original deep-sea exploration lessons that she'll bring back to her Marine Science students at CPHS.
