🏅📚 Fable Olympics! 📚🏅

Our kindergarten students put their fable knowledge to the test with the Fable Olympics! They had so much fun working together, showing what they know, and competing in different fable-themed challenges.

Learning about characters, lessons, and morals is even better when we can turn it into a little friendly competition!

We always love when Miss Rachel, our Environmental Educator from the Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District, comes to visit!

Today, our first grade students got hands-on while learning all about the different types of soil: sand, silt, and clay. They explored each type up close, felt the differences between them, and learned what soil is made of and why it is so important to our environment.

There is no better way to learn than by getting your hands a little dirty! 👐🌎

Way to go CPCSC! Proud to be a Wildcat!

Every single one of our students is SO much more than a test score, but we must share with you and celebrate that our third graders and our elementary teachers and support staff reached 95.9% PERCENT PASSING on the recent IREAD test. This is a major accomplishment. It placed us #1 in Lake County, and #3 in the STATE among the largest districts who have more than 600 third graders. 80% of our second grade students passed the test an entire year early. Miss Depta's 4th grade class completed a get to know you/bonding activity on the first day of school. We all stood in a circle, and I started with a ball of yarn. I shared a fact about myself, and whoever had that in common raised their hand. I chose one of those people to toss the yarn to next, but I held onto my string. We continued this pattern until every student had yarn in their hands, and we turned into a big tangled mess!
This activity helped show us that while we all are unique and bring different backgrounds to our classroom, we can still find something in common with everyone we meet.

From Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, from our teachers and office staff to our cafeteria and custodial teams, our entire school family is ready to ROCK this school year! 💙🤘📚

The weather may have delayed the start of school here in Lake County, but it hasn’t dampened our excitement. We’ve waited a little longer than expected, and now we REALLY can’t wait to finally meet our students, see those smiling faces, and get this year started!
