Every family in our school community is part of our PTA family, and everyone is welcome to participate. While financial contributions are not mandatory, they are highly encouraged and help us continue our mission of supporting our students, staff, and entire school community. 🍎 Recognized and celebrated our amazing school staff throughout the year

The Brooklyn Tech Dance Company is hosting a free Hispanic Heritage Dance Intensive, and we’d love for you to share this with your school community.

EVENT DETAILS
What: Hispanic Heritage Dance Intensive
When: Saturday, September 26, 2026, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: Brooklyn Technical High School, 29 Fort Greene Place, Brooklyn, NY
Who: Open to all NYC Public School 7th and 8th grade students
Cost: Free

ABOUT THE EVENT
This intensive celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month through dance education while providing an outreach opportunity for NYC public school students in grades 7 and 8. Participants will be introduced to the artistic, cultural, and educational opportunities available through the Brooklyn Tech Dance Program, while building an appreciation for Latin dance traditions and music.

Students will learn excerpts of choreography performed by the Brooklyn Tech Dance Company during the 2025-2026 school year, with a focus on salsa and other Latin-inspired works (contemporary and street jazz). The workshop will be led by myself and current Brooklyn Tech Dance Company members, giving younger students the chance to learn alongside high school student leaders in a collaborative environment. All experience levels are welcome; no prior dance background is needed.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
- Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month through dance and cultural exploration
- Provide meaningful arts enrichment opportunities for middle school students
- Introduce prospective students to Brooklyn Technical High School’s dance program
- Develop participants’ dance technique, performance skills, and confidence
- Foster leadership opportunities for Brooklyn Tech Dance Company members
- Strengthen connections between Brooklyn Tech and the broader NYC public school community
