Fifth Grade Sunshine Squad Hosted:
Popsicles with Pups

The school bell rings—
A brand-new year,
BRE is ready,
So let’s give a cheer!

The Sunshine Squad is here to say,
“Let’s spread some kindness every day!”
With smiles that shine
And hearts that care,
We’ll make sure everyone
Knows they belong here.

There were popsicles waiting,
Cool, sweet, and bright,
And two happy pups
To make the day right!

With Remi and Sooner
Ready to greet,
We had wagging tails
And a chilly treat!

So here’s our week week done,
To friendship and fun,
To a year of learning
Where everyone can shine as one.

Keep your paws positive,
Keep your sunshine bright,
And remember, dear Eagles:

You have the power to make
Your school a little brighter,
And your world a whole lot better
When you give more than you take!

💜BESS RACE FAMILY, HELP US CELEBRATE COACH CROCKER! 💜

Today marks an incredible 43 years of dedication to Bess Race Elementary! 🦅

Coach Crocker was here when the original Bess Race Elementary opened on Peach Street, and for 43 years, she has poured her heart into generations of students, families, and staff. She has mothered hundreds of students who have walked the hallways and gymnasium of Bess Race, leaving a lasting impact on so many lives.

Her Bess Race story is even more special because she once taught one of our very own teachers, Mr. Johnson, in third grade! She fondly remembers him as a wonderful little boy. And now, Coach Crocker’s own grandchild is a first grader at Bess Race! What a beautiful testament to the generations of families connected to this special school. ❤️

We simply CANNOT let this day pass without giving Coach Crocker a standing ovation! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Her extreme dedication, love, consistency, and commitment to everyone she encounters are truly unmatched. She has been a light to our school community and, yes, the person who lovingly keeps all of us in line! 😂💜

So, whether you see Coach Crocker in the morning drop-off line or during afternoon dismissal, take a moment to celebrate her. Tell her THANK YOU! Give her her flowers. 💐 Let her know just how much she means to the Bess Race family.

Covered in Prayer Before the First Bell 🙏🏽

This morning, our staff gathered at the flagpole for sunrise prayer, lifting up our students, families, teachers, and staff as we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year.

We prayed for protection, wisdom, strength, unity, and a successful year of learning and growth. We are grateful for the opportunity to come together and cover our school community in prayer as we begin another year.

Our students are covered. Our staff is covered. Our school is covered. 🙏🏽💜🦅
