My 3rd grade science class participated in the national Bonnie Plants Cabbage Program. The program awards $1,000 scholarship to one student in each state. I had a few students who submitted but these were the largest ones. Everett’s came in at 8.5lbs. Great job everyone! 👏🏻 🥬

Last week Mr. Pierre Besse came and gave a lesson on caring for our garden. He taught the kids about different weeds and what kind of root systems they have. Also, about removing suckers, the new shoots that sprout from the roots or base of a plant that take nutrients from the fruit. I initially thought our seeds did not survive the freeze we had after the first day of spring, but they made it! We have tomatoes and eggplants growing. 🥳 🌱 🪴 🍅
