The topic of GRIT came up on my radio show this past Sunday (blogtalkradio.com/jreedradioshow)...
Here are some of my initial thoughts about GRIT...
You might be skilled, talented, educated, and brilliant. But, if you’re not resilient, persistent, and gritty, you’ll never make the most of those other attributes.
Think about the five most successful people you know. On the average, they’re probably not that talented. However, they know how to get things done and persist.
Resilience and grit might be the missing ingredients in your quest for success.
I think that one of the main social-emotional/psychological takeaways from the pandemic (especially for our kids) will be...
Who has GRIT, and who doesn't...
Who can overcome this obstacle, and who cant...
Who has the TOOLS to pick themselves up again, get on a schedule, set some meaningful goals, and get moving forward in their lives...
As a middle school counselor and dad, I know how hard this can be to teach your own children...
I have a tough time teaching my own sons...
BUT, these are critical life skills that they will need in life, so why not teach them now?!
