Good morning, CMS!

Today is Friday, August 21st, 2026
Pledge/Moment of Silence

When you arrive on campus in the mornings and you want to eat breakfast in the cafeteria, you need to eat first before going outside.

The lunch menu will be updated daily and posted on the tvs around school. There is also a menu board when you walk into the
cafeteria.

Nurse Chelsea’s office is located inside Ms. Spradlin’s office.

When staying in at lunch, make sure all trash is thrown away in both the cafeteria and the gym.

There will be an announcement very soon as to when 5th Grade BASIC will begin.

Library Schedule:
Open each morning before school starts for those who would like to grab a book or hang out. When the 0755 bell rings, students will leave for class.
On Mondays and Tuesdays, the library will be open for hangouts after you have finished eating your lunch.
On Wednesdays, the library is reserved for BASIC meetings during lunch times.
On Thursdays, the library will be open for games and BINGO during lunch recess.
On Fridays, the library is open during lunch times, but there are no lunch hangouts.

If you are a 7th/8th grade student interested in joining Art Club, you must stop by the art room by NEXT Friday, August 28th to pick up a packet. The first Art Club meeting will be held after school on Monday, August 31st.

Boys & Girls Club of Ashley County has opened Soccer registration for any students age K-7th grade. For more information, there are flyers located in the front office.

Word of the Month for August is Aspire. Aspire means to set your goals high and work hard to achieve those goals. What will you aspire to do for the month of August?

In Coach Jones’ class our 7th graders explored several of the first Native American tribes in North America through a gallery walk today! This activity encouraged students to learn from one another, ask questions, and spark curiosity as they continue learning about the First Americans.
