Cross Lanes YMCA Child Development Center offers quality Infant, Toddler, Preschool and School Age care for children ages 6 weeks – 12 years old. Our center is licensed through the WV DHHR Bureau for Children and Families. Our priority is to provide all children with a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment. All of our classrooms use Creative Curriculum and the West Virginia Early learn
ing Standards Framework as a guide to develop the most beneficial and age appropriate activities. Creative Curriculum emphasizes the development of social competence and learning through play while fostering independence and self-confidence. We believe that play helps children learn valuable life skills like problem solving, processing emotions, social skills, and more. All of our children are served a healthy breakfast, lunch and snack in compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). We accept Connect and Link for families needing financial assistance. Prior to hire, all of our employees must pass a drug screening and five separate background checks. Our employees must also complete 18 hours of continuing education per calendar year, including Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention training, and maintain a 1st Aid/CPR certification.
