What a wonderful way to kick off the 115th year of Cathedral School!

Here are just a few of the smiling faces that filled our halls today! 😊 From our newest students to our returning students, it was so good to see our school family back together and ready for another year of faith, family, and learning.

For 115 years, students have walked through Cathedral’s doors and made memories, built friendships, grown in faith, and learned together. Today, a new group of students added their smiles, laughter, and stories to that incredible history.

Here’s to a fantastic 115th year, Cathedral! We’re so glad you’re here! ❤️💙

✨ Tomorrow, it all begins again. ✨

Tomorrow we kick off the 115th year of Catholic education at Cathedral School! ❤️💙

On September 1, 1911, Cathedral School opened its doors for the very first time. For 115 years, generations of students have walked through those doors—learning, growing, building friendships, discovering their faith, and becoming the people God created them to be.

So many lives have been touched by Cathedral throughout the years. Students, families, teachers, staff, priests, volunteers, and countless members of our community have all played a part in the story of Cathedral School. And while we celebrate our past, we look forward with great excitement to all of the lives that will continue to be impacted by this special school.

Tomorrow, we welcome our students back and begin writing the next chapter of the Cathedral story. 📚✏️🙏

115 years of faith. 115 years of family. 115 years of learning. And so much more to come.

✨ Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Holzer✨

If you've ever walked through our front doors, chances are you've been greeted by her friendly smile! As our Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Holzer is often the first face students, families, and visitors see each day. She helps make everyone feel welcome from the moment they arrive.

While her title may be Administrative Assistant, those who know her best know she wears countless hats. From helping families, to handling paperwork, delivering breakfast, serving lunch, caring for students, and solving whatever challenge comes her way, she truly does it all. She works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly and is always ready to lend a helping hand.

Her caring heart, positive attitude, and dedication make a difference in the lives of our students, staff, and families every single day. We are incredibly grateful for all she does and proud to have her as such an important part of our school community. She is our school super-hero!!

⭐ Thank you, Mrs. Holzer, for being the smiling face at our front desk, our problem solver, and one of the many reasons our school feels like home!

We're excited to share that we have one opening available in our 3-Year-Old Preschool Program.

If your child will be 3 years old by September 1, 2026, this could be the perfect opportunity to begin their educational journey with us. Classes start Tuesday!

With the first day of school fast approaching. Minnesota law on stopping for school buses has changed. You must now stop at least 20 feet from the bus whenever the red lights are flashing. The stop arm does not have to be extended. This update closes a loophole where drivers previously may have tried to “beat the arm” when passing a bus — a risky move that puts children in danger.

Slowing down and adding that extra caution will help make sure every child can travel to and from school safely.

🎓 A Wonderful Alumni Reunion! ❤️

On Sunday, we welcomed alumni back to Cathedral School from across the years of Crookston Catholic Schools—including Cathedral School, Mount Saint Benedict, and Saint Joseph’s Academy!

It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with alumni from the Cathedral Class of 2026 all the way back to the Class of 1949! What a special reminder of the many generations who have been part of our school family. ❤️

Thank you to all the alumni who made the special trip to join us as we kick off our 115th year of Catholic education in Crookston!

The buildings may have changed throughout those 115 years, but our commitment to Catholic education has not. We are grateful for the generations of students, families, teachers, and supporters who have helped make our school what it is today.
