Our Story

The Delta Theta Sigma (DTS) Fraternity is an agricultural based fraternity that offers membership to both male and female students of University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC). The members of Delta Theta Sigma believe in a well rounded collegiate experience, and therefore we participate in many social activities, both within the brotherhood and other campus groups. Involvement is key to experiencing all the benefit Delta Theta Sigma has to offer. The more involved a member is, the better overall collegiate experience a member will have, and the better prepared for life after college. Delta Theta Sigma is a social professional fraternity devoted to offering unique opportunities to its members. Because of our similar academic interests, members serve as in house mentors and tutors. Most importantly, the members of DTS offer a support network enabling each other to reach our academic goals. The fraternity offers a wide variety of experience to any member of the brotherhood. Community service is always a priority within the fraternity as well as scholastic integrity and excellence with lifelong friendships of brotherhood. The fraternity also organizes and hosts many different events while working with the community to better the relationships between the UMC campus and the community.

In 1997 Delta Theta Sigma colonized the University of Minnesota-Crookston Chapter with much help from the Men of Delta Chapter. Theta was officially recognized as a chapter at the 1998 Conclave hosted by Delta Chapter. Founding members of the Theta Chapter include Korey Hegreberg, Hans Reinke, and Mark Erickson. Theta Chapter originally rented a house at 101 North Nelson. Theta Chapter purchased a house with the help of the Theta Alumni and the support of the National Executive Council which is located at 204 Gorgas Ave. Theta Chapter is looking forward to celebrating 20 years as a chapter this fall 2018.
