On Sunday, October 4, Holy Apostles seminarians traveled to Cheshire, Connecticut, for lunch, fraternity, and a friendly soccer match with the humanities seminarians of the Legionaries of Christ - LC Cheshire.

Before kickoff, Fr. Peter Kucer, M.S.A., President-Rector, led both teams in prayer, and then it was game time!

The final score? Well… the Legionaries took this one 6–0. 😅 We may not have brought home the win, but the afternoon was a great opportunity for fraternity and friendly competition.

Thank you to the Legionaries of Christ for the warm hospitality and a great match. We’re already looking forward to the rematch! ⚽

On October 3, the Holy Apostles community and friends gathered in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

The celebration began with a procession from the Marian Garden to Holy Apostles’ Chapel, which has been designated as a pilgrimage site during the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi.

The procession was followed by the celebration of Holy Mass, with the Very Rev. Martin Rooney, M.S.A., Chancellor of Holy Apostles College & Seminary, serving as the main celebrant.

We are grateful to all who joined us for this beautiful celebration of faith and community as we honor the life and witness of St. Francis and ask for his intercession.

St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us! 🙏

With sorrow, we announce the passing of our dear Fr. Edward Przygocki, MSA, on Sunday, September 27.

Father Ed was a gift to our Holy Apostles College & Seminary community, to the Missionaries of the Holy Apostles, and to many parishes far and wide.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Today, we celebrate Priesthood Sunday!

In a special way, we give thanks for our founder, Fr. Eusebe Menard, OFM; the priests of the Missionaries of the Holy Apostles; and the many priests who generously share their time, wisdom, and experience in the formation of our seminarians, religious, and lay students at Holy Apostles.

We give thanks to God for the priests who received their formation at Holy Apostles and who now faithfully serve the Church throughout the United States and around the world.

We also pray for all young men currently discerning and preparing for the priesthood. May God strengthen them, guide them, and remain close to them throughout their journey of formation.

And if you see a priest today, take a moment to thank him for his “yes” to God and for the gift of his priesthood to the Church and the communities he serves.

To all priests: thank you for your faithful service to Christ and His Church. Please know of our prayers for you today and always.

J.M.J. — Holy Apostles was blessed to be among the tens of thousands of pilgrims who journeyed to St. Louis for the beatification of Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, the first American-born bishop to be beatified.

During his homily, Cardinal Tagle reflected on Blessed Fulton Sheen, saying, “Among many of his virtues and ministries, two stand out. His being an evangelizer or proclaimer of the Gospel and his being a missionary shepherd…”

That missionary spirit continues to inspire the Catholic faithful today. It is the same missionary zeal that Holy Apostles seeks to foster in our students, alumni, and friends—forming Catholic leaders who are prepared to proclaim the Gospel and serve the Church in their homes, ministries, professional work and wherever else God may call them.

Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, pray for us! 🙏
