The Mugford Education Center is our dedicated lecture facility located on the upper level of The Mugford Center for Periodontics and Dental Implants. With seating for 50 and leading-edge audio and visual equipment, our center is designed for optimal learning experiences.

Member Highlight: Dr. Kathryn Ehmann of Ehmann Dental Care

Dr. Kathryn Ehmann, a valued member of the Triple Crown Study Club, collaborates with us regularly, bringing her patients to our office for joint treatment.

After graduating from Cornell University, Dr. Ehmann spent two years serving in the Peace Corps in Senegal, West Africa. She then graduated magna cm laude from the University of Buffalo Dental School and spent three years in the Navy, completing a hospital-based residency at the National Naval Medical Center, serving aboard the USS Enterprise, and working at the Naval Branch Dental Clinic in Norfolk, VA.

In 2007, Dr. Ehmann moved to Annapolis and joined Dr. Kathy Farley’s practice, eventually taking over as owner in 2012. Now, with over 10 years of experience, she’s proud to lead her dedicated team and serve the community she loves.

Our first hygiene meeting was a success! We’re excited for a year ahead filled with learning, growth, and collaboration. Looking forward to the rest of our upcoming events!

We're excited for The Dental Renaissance! This meeting will be a celebration to kick off the 2024 -2025 Triple Crown Study Club season. Members and their significant others are invited to a discussion regarding the changing model of dentistry as we become increasingly aware of the link between dentistry and overall health. We will discuss why the concept of a wellness practice is here and in demand and talk about new ideas that will improve the lives of our patients, ourselves, and our loved ones.

We're looking forward to our kick off celebration tonight for our Hygienist Study Club! There has been a dramatic movement toward health-centered dentistry. The role of the hygienist will shift from “sick care” and maintenance to proactive wellness care. In this presentation, Dr. Mugford will discuss the changing model of dentistry as we become increasingly aware of the link between dentistry and overall health.

Introducing The Dental Renaissance.

For the 2024-2025 Academic Year, we have reconceptualized our programming. We will be advancing your learning experience by creating an opportunity to pursue mastery through focusing on one topic throughout the year from four different perspectives and focuses. It is our goal to encourage true mentorship, connection, and mastery by having multiple sessions with each individual speaker. We call this the “Artist in Residence approach”.

As always we are looking forward to the excitement of being together, advancing our knowledge, and contributing to this great profession.

Member Highlight: Dr. Woody Wooddell & Dr. Joseph Passaro of Wooddell & Passaro Dental Group

Dr. Wooddell, Dr. Passaro, and their hygienists are members of Triple Crown Study Club. They were also part of the team that won the 2014 World Treatment Planning Competition at Seattle Study Club with Dr. Mugford!

Both doctors dedicate over 200 hours each year to continuing education, staying current on the latest dental techniques and technologies. They regularly attend annual conferences where cutting-edge trends in dentistry are presented.

Dr. Woody Wooddell, DDS -
Dr. Wooddell grew up in Davidsonville, MD, and also earned his Doctorate in Dentistry from the University of Maryland. He and his wife, Nancy, live in Edgewater and have three grown children. Their son Jamie has followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the family dental practice.

Dr. Joseph Passaro, DDS -
Dr. Passaro, originally from Towson, MD, earned his Doctorate in Dentistry from the University of Maryland at Baltimore Dental School. He and his wife, Ginny, live in Bay Ridge and enjoy spending time with their daughters and grandsons.
