What age can kids drive a UTV?

1) Age 16 and up may drive a UTV on all trails and routes … not accompanied by and parent/adult.

2) Age 16 and up must have DNR safety certification on them when driving UTV ~ anyone born 1988 or after. (A drivers license is not required.)

3) Age 12-15 may drive a 200cc or less UTV on a trail - when accompanied by parent.

4) Under age 18 must wear a helmet at all times.

5) Private property and agricultural use have their own rules and regulations.

What age can kids drive ATVs? [Helments required all the time on anyone under age 18 yr old.]

1) Under 12 ~ May drive on “trails only”with parent accompanying them on an ATV less than 130cc.

2) 12-under 16 ~ May drive on “trails only” with parents accompanying them on an ATV that is 130 cc and over …must have certified DNR ATV Safety certification.

3) 16 and over ~ May drive “trails & routes (town or county roads)” on an ATV …must have certified DNR ATV Safety certification... which is required of anyone born 1988 or after per State Statutes in Wisconsin. No adult accompany is required.

4) All ages up to 16 must NEVER drive on a road ~ which includes crossing the roadway of a trail … parent must push the ATV across the road or tow. Child never allowed to drive on a city, town, village or county road.

5) Private property and agricultural use have their own Rules and Regulations.
