HAPPY FIRST "WHAT'S GOING ON WEDNESDAY!"

Today, we are shining a light on Mrs. Bromeier in the library! Last week, second graders in Ms. Hale’s class participated in an author event with Jim Benton. He read his latest book, Tot the Toad Makes a Mess and led a directed drawing of the book characters. The book came out YESTERDAY October 6th!

StoryVoice is free weekly author events where students get to read, draw, and connect live with their favorite creators.

Last Friday, we celebrated our first POP Awards of the year! Each month, teachers will nominate one student in their class who is a good model of our monthly character word. Our word this month is respect! These wildcats exemplify respect in so many ways. Thank you for all your hard work, guys!

Our amazing art teacher, Mrs. Lynn, set up this interactive art installation in the library with the help of all our little hands during art class. This is inspired by artist Kelsey Montague, who is the founder of the social media project. The students learned all about her and worked together to make these beautiful butterfly wings. Great job, Wildcats!

Today, we welcome Ms. Nyla Hughes! She is our new Library and Technology Aid.

Here is a bit about her: "Hello! I'm Nyla and I'm very excited to begin my role as the Library and Technology aid! I recently earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Saint louis University (Go Billikens!!!). I've always enjoyed working with kids and I'm very happy to be in a role where I can use my tech skills to help students succeed! Outside of work I enjoy reading, video games, anime and finding new spots to eat at! I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and becoming a part of the Willow Brook community!"
