Congratulations to three of our Cardinals on their performances in the 2026 All-State Musicals! 🎭❤️

Kira Showalter (12) played Pig #1 in “Shrek: the Musical.”

Alfredo Lucas (‘26) played Ripper and Aiden Williams (10) played Jason in Disney’s “High School Musical.”

The students spent 3 and 1/2 days at Midland University learning a full-length musical alongside 150+ students from across the state of Nebraska.

We are so proud of their dedication to the arts! We hope to send more Cardinals back to the camp in the future. 🎶

Who can spy one of our Tenor Cardinals, sophomore Aiden Williams? 👀

Aiden participated in the All-State Choir Clinic at Midland University on Wednesday and Thursday. The clinic involved sectionals and whole-group rehearsals, culminating in a final performance of the literature for the public on Thursday afternoon.

Way to go Aiden for getting out and preparing for those auditions! ☀️🎶

While Ms. Engel and Mr. Godown are on summer break, they’ve decided to do some learning of their own… and perform in a musical!

Come see “Clue: the Musical” at the Rialto Theater in Geneva, NE! There are 216 possible endings, and each night, the audience will play along to guess who, where, and what killed Mr. Boddy. Only a 45 minute trip from Crete. ♟️🎲

CHS Senior Kira Showalter participated in the University of Nebraska-Kearney All-State Choir Camp. The camp culminated in a final concert featuring the 6 songs selected for the NMEA All-State Choir in November.

Students attending the camp practiced repertoire and received vocal training in preparation for auditions in September. The All-State Choir is highly competitive, and only selects 400 singers from across the state to participate.

Isis Theater has been a great supporter of CHS Fine Arts. Seniors, now is your chance to give back (and maybe earn some cash)! 😄

ATTENTION INCOMING SENIORS!!

We are excited to announce that BRAC/Isis Theatre will be sponsoring TWO $500 scholarships for the class of 2027!

In order to be eligible to apply, one must volunteer AT LEAST 16 hours (4 movies) at the theater (or other BRAC event) between June 1st and December 1st.

Congratulations to Jaylin Johnson and Melanie Palomo for their performance in the Nebraska Theater Academy’s Showcase Ensemble! 🎭

Last night over 500 performers from around the state of Nebraska took the stage at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha to celebrate theater education in Nebraska. Jaylin and Melanie participated in a Wicked medley and Theater medley to kick off and culminate the performance.

We are SO proud of these students! ❤️🎶💙

We are FILLED with pride for our Cardinal Choir students and their performances at District Music Contest.

On Friday, April 24th, Treble Choir, Mixed Choir, and 16 solo and small ensembles represented Crete High School. Students competed at Norris High School along with other surrounding area high schools.

Treble Choir received a Superior + rating, meaning ALL THREE judges rated the ensemble with a 1, or “Superior.” The ensemble was awarded with a plaque for their hard work, which will be engraved and displayed in the CHS Trophy Case! 🏆✨

Mixed Choir received an 11 point rating from each judge, meaning they were ONE point away from a Superior ranking (to earn a Superior, an ensemble must score between 7 to 10 points). Nevertheless, we are proud of the effort this ensemble has displayed all school year. 🎶❤️

11 of our students received a Superior rating for their Solos and Small Ensembles. 🥇

8 of our students received Excellent ratings. 🥈

CONGRATULATIONS, CARDINAL CHOIRS!! Way to represent CHS! ❤️🎵💙
