Southminster Pre-School & Mother's Day Out Southminster Pre-School & Mother's Day Out is a non-profit Christian program where all children are welcome. We are happy to welcome you and your student!

Southminster Pre-School and Mother's Day Out is a non-profit Christian program where all children are welcome. Our experienced teachers will motivate your child through our theme-based curriculum. Our MDO program offers children ages 2-3 the opportunity to have a social situation outside the home. MDO are limited to a maximum of 10 children each day with two adults. Our preschool program prepares

children ages 3-5 for Kindergarten. We have a unique teacher: student ratio of 1:5, providing more individualized attention than most preschool programs. Our program also operates for 3 1/2 hours as opposed to 2 1/2 hours. We help he children to develop a positive self-image, build self confidence, and take pride in the challenges they have met and the skills they have mastered. Southminster graduates are prepared for Kindergarten and a lifetime of learning. PARKING: Come to the back parking lot of Southminster Presbyterian Church, there will plenty of parking for all of our families.

What does a typical day look like at Southminster Preschool and MDO?
-Our teachers will greet families each morning as parents drop off in the Rear Entrance to Southminster Chuch.
-After placing backpacks in cubbies, children get settled and begin with playtime.
-Next, they enjoy playground or gym time with other classes, often including a group song or game.
-Classroom lessons then focus on early learning concepts such as letters, colors, or seasons, paired with a hands-on activity or craft.
-Children have another opportunity for free play or outdoor time before eating lunch in the classroom.
-After cleanup, it’s time for pickup!

Q: What ages do you serve?
A: Ages 2-5 for preschool, flexible ages for MDO
Q: What are your hours?
A: 9:00a-12:30pm with the option for early drop off at 8:30am
Q: How do you support children with first-time jitters?
A: Kids are encouraged to bring a favorite stuffed animal or blanket to help them feel comfortable and secure. Participation is never forced. Nervous children are free to “just watch” until they feel ready, which often happens quickly once they see classmates enjoying the fun activities.
