I visited with Mrs Hainline last Saturday and Sunday. We had an extended family reunion in Afton but she wasn’t up for attending. (she's my grandma Alice Brentnell's first cousin) She’s been engaged with hospice care—no imminent danger but her 95 year old body is breaking down and her usually sharp mind is fading some. We talked about her days playing for Thayer’s 1945 state qualifying basketball team (their heartbreaking 2 point loss to Marengo still sticks in her craw a bit), her starting out teaching at Talmage’s two-room schoolhouse (one room was for storage), and her time at Lincoln elementary. I told her what a wonderful teacher she was to me and that the mention of “Mrs Hainline” brings forth smiles and treasured memories because she truly cared for each of her students and took the time to guide us individually. She truly poured her love into her students and we all benefited from it.

John suggested it would be a wonderful idea if she could receive some cards of gratitude from her former students. And also if anyone was in the Osceola area she would welcome a visit.

Hello Class of ‘89. Sad news. We have lost another classmate.

Randy Miller passed away on Monday, August 4th, at his home in Tennessee. I have touched base with his brother Scot.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Eagles in Creston on September 27th starting at noon.

There will most likely not be an obituary. We will keep you posted if anything changes

Please pray for his family as they go through this difficult time.🙏🙏

I told her I was pretty sure it was Devon Goetz. And she also wondered if anyone remembers anything about the speech.
