A PD day for the chow hall crew is when we do our mandatory state training but it’s also the day we pull things apart and even climb up in the equipment😆 for a deep cleaning. Superior health inspections don’t just happen without a lot of hard work.🥰

Hi all.

We need your help with an ongoing issue.

There was another incident of students putting food items in a toilet or urinal. We’re at a loss. Our food service department works hard to stretch the state funding we receive to provide students with fresh fruits and vegetables, juice, and other items they enjoy, every day, often at significant cost. Unfortunately it’s happened a few times this year; food stuffed in toilets, condiments smeared on bathroom walls and fresh fruit used as projectiles and then stomped on in the cafeteria.

Because of this, we’ve already had to remove condiments, once, and may no longer be able to offer certain fresh foods, like blueberries. If this continues, we’ll be forced to severely limit the items we serve and provide only what is necessary for a compliant meal. That’s not how we want to operate here! We absolutely do not want to take anything away, but if this behavior continues, we will have no choice. The worst part is, the actions of a handful of students will negatively affect everyone.

We know our parents wouldn’t allow this at home so we’d like to work in partnership with you. Please speak with your children about respecting food, school property, and the effort that goes into providing their meals. Sometimes it’s just a matter of good kids making bad choices so your support truly matters.

Grilled cheese with tomato soup has been a highly requested lunch 🥪 but if grilled cheese isn’t your favorite, a giant pretzel with cheese tastes pretty good with soup.🤤
