Thrilled to be invited back once again!

Every year, Dr. DeArmin is honored to present about the ASL/English Interpreting (ASL/EI) Program at Mount Aloysius College to the ASL students at Crofton High School in Maryland. Returning to this classroom always feels like reconnecting with a vibrant, welcoming community.

A special shout-out to Ms. White who is an exceptional teacher whose passion creates such an inquisitive, engaged group of students. Their curiosity and energy make every visit a true highlight.

This year’s visit was especially rewarding: Dr. DeArmin collaborated with the ASL 4 students on a song interpretation (their creativity and skill were inspiring!), and walked the ASL 3 students through the 7 ASL expansion techniques to help strengthen clarity and natural flow in their signing.

She is grateful for the chance to encourage the next generation of ASL users and future interpreters.

The room was full of questions, laughter, and real excitement which is exactly the kind of energy that makes this work so meaningful.

Dr. DeArmin spent a delightful Sunday evening with Girl Scout Troop 16336 as they earned their AIDE patch. She explained the important of inclusion and how sign language interpreters provide communication access to those who are Deaf hard hearing. As well as basic signs.

What a night at the Bertschi Center.
Thank you to Ms. Jacquelyn Friday for leading tonight’s mosaic workshop at Mount Aloysius College. Guests created, connected, and left with a piece of their own work. A huge success from start to finish.
We are also grateful to the ASL Club and advisor Ms. Bobbie Duffy for partnering on the event and helping make the evening so welcoming. Step-by-step guidance, materials provided, and plenty of energy in the room. Beginners and experienced makers alike walked away proud of what they made.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. Evenings like this show what our campus community can do together.
