GUID 207: Life Management & Career Preparation is designed for students with developmental or learning disabilities and focuses on building independence and confidence in everyday life.
Students will explore topics like nutrition, personal development, mental health, safety at home and online, community resources, and preparing for a job or career.

College of the Redwoods is co-hosting a regional civic engagement event with Poly Humboldt called "Youth-Led Movements and the Future of Democracy" on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the Goodwin Forum on the Cal Poly Humboldt Campus. The event will feature Tennessee State Representative Justin Jones.

Representative Jones will discuss the urgency for and potential of youth leadership in today's political climate. Drawing from his experience as a student organizer and as one of the youngest lawmakers in Tennessee history, he will share insights on civic leadership, coalition building, and engaging in democratic processes amid significant political challenges.
