Have you heard the news? SGHS is a "B" school again!

As the principal of South Granville High School, I could not be more proud of our students and staff. Our teachers and staff worked incredibly hard throughout our first year together to increase academic rigor, strengthen student engagement, and create opportunities for every student to be successful. These results are evidence that their hard work is making a difference.

Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for believing in South Granville High School and investing in our Vikings. We are proud of where we are and even more excited about where we are going.

South Granville High School would like to extend our deepest condolences to Bunn High School and their entire school community on the heartbreaking loss of one of their students this week.

We experienced the same heartbreaking loss last week, so we understand how difficult and painful this time can be for any school communiy. We are truly sorry that your school community is now having to endure this same unimaginable loss.

Bunn High School was incredibly kind and supportive to us last week with the passing of our student, and we want to extend that same support to them now.

Please know that we are thinking of your students, staff, administration, and especially the student’s family during this incredibly difficult time.

UPDATE ON FOOTBALL GAME:

Due to the expected possibility of severe weather on Friday, our football game at Vance County High School has been moved up one day.

New Game Date: Thursday, August 27
Kickoff: 7:00 PM
Location: Vance County High School

This change was made to help ensure the safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and fans.
Please help spread the word about the schedule change. We look forward to seeing everyone at Vance County on Thursday night!

It has been an extremely sad week for our students, staff, and entire school community as we mourn the loss of Emma Wallace. Our deepest condolences go out to her parents, her sister, Laney, and her brother, Devin.

As a Viking Family, we will continue to support one another through these difficult days and the days ahead.

Emma’s funeral service will be held at South Granville High School on Sunday, August 23. Please note that this is not a South Granville High School event. Sossoman Funeral Home is handling all service arrangements for the family.

The SGHS family will continue to stand beside and support the Wallace family during this incredibly difficult time. We ask that everyone keep the Wallace family, as well as all who loved Emma, in their thoughts and prayers.
