It is once again time to say goodbye (or see you later) to our summertime volunteer, Jadyn. (She does makes appearances throughout the school year as well.) She will be headed back to school tomorrow.

Jadyn has been volunteering with us since 2022 and has put in well over 300 hours of service. She is with us eight hours each week helping wherever she is needed. The adults love having her here, but the kids love having her here even more.

Thank you Jadyn, for all you do!

Our summer garden (thank you Dean 🌻) was BLOOMING when we came in this morning! In addition to our beautiful sunflower, we were able to pick two large yellow squash. Jadyn (more on her later) cooked up the squash for the kids to eat with morning snack, and it was delicious!

We want to say a HUGE thank you to the Rio Grande National Forest Service for bringing Smokey to visit the children! They taught the kids about the 5 Steps of Fire Prevention and told the story of how Smokey became the figure he is today!

Every Monday, we partner with an employee from National Forest Service where the children explore different outdoor activities in the classroom setting!
