Adoptive parents need to know that ambiguous loss is one of the most stressful kinds of losses one can experience. For the adoptee this can mean wondering 'what might have been if I wasn't placed for adoption'. We need to make room for this conversation with our children.

People are now beginning to think about vacation with family. Going together is a great way to make lasting memories. One of my favorite family vacation memories is hiking together in Colorado. Pictures continue to remind me of how special it was. In addition to action, we had good conversations along the way. This is the stuff that can be the glue in hard times.
