I get asked all the time how often I train on the range.
As an instructor, I do hundreds of short demonstrations throughout the year, but not a lot of long, repetitive training sessions focused solely on my own skill development.
Because of that, I’ve started dedicating time twice a month to get out on the range and train for about an hour. During those sessions, I typically shoot anywhere from 50 to 100 rounds.
There are many different schools of thought on how many rounds you should fire and how often you need to train. My answer is simple: do what you can afford and what your schedule allows.
The most important thing is consistency. Whether it’s ten minutes or an entire day, make the effort to get out and train. Every repetition builds confidence, reinforces fundamentals, and helps maintain proficiency.
Remember: training is an investment in yourself. Get out there and put in the work.
