In Step Studio, Inc. In Step Studio, Inc. DBA Halimeda's Oasis was created by Nancy Redig (Halimeda) to share the love of dance and music. She also sponsors a MENAHT music group.

The physical place is gone but Nancy Redig continues to teach Hawaiian Hula and MENAHT dances. In Step Studio's Halimeda teaches Raks Sharqi. 'Aukai teaches Polynesian dance emphasizing Hawaiian Hula. All in-person classes are at Replay Fitness Feel Good Again Studio in Tallahassee, Florida, 2328 Apalachee Parkway. The classes are fun, lively, and include information about the cultures they come from. Costuming is available from Halimeda's Oasis. Classes are on going and all levels are open to walk ins.

So grateful to Paloma Phoenix, Ambrosia (Carrie Ley) and Sharon Schwerzel for taking on the summer classes. I hope all dancers are taking advantage of these classes.

July 11 - Paloma Phoenix with Crazy in Love choreography. I hope to have this included for Experience Asia.
July 18 - Either Paloma Phoenix or Ambrosia TBD
July 25 - Ambrosia will be working with choreographies that Troupe Arabesque performs.

Hula on Thursday - Sharon is teaching some old favorites.

AND a workshop is coming up on August 29 with Amani Jabril!!! Wahoo! I hate to miss some of this fun but it's my turn at the family farm. I hope everyone else will fill in for me and have a great time with all.

Big THANK YOU to all that participated in the Student / Teacher Night on Monday, June 1st, at Casa Grande - Latin Fusion. Special thanks to dancers and musicians for a remarkable evening. Its aways fun to watch!

I know all of the performers are grateful for the wonderful support of family and friends. We couldn't keep going without you! Friends that could not make it were missed...hope to see you soon.

Reminder that tonight , June 1st, is Student / Teacher (Informal) Dance night at Casa Grande Tapas and Cantina! Come join us, bring your dancing shoes ...and share our love of folk based dances.

Time: 6:00 arrival and ask for the party group! Dancing starts at 6:30. Lost in the Desert Band will be playing...bring a drum if you have one!

Food is soooo good - Latin Fusion...you don't need a reservation. We'll have room for you!

June 1st party time at Casa Grande Latin Fusion, 6:00 arrival to start the dancing at 6:30. 2705 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL 32301

***Calling all dancers: soloist, duets, groups! ****We want you to share with us.

The band will be playing Erev Shel Shoshanim, Miserlou, Garoon Garoon, A Nadda, Efem (jazzed it up somewhat), and Rompi Rompi. We'd love to have *YOU* dance to our music. If you have a request for another song with Lost in the Desert, let me know. Even though our repertoire is not extensive, we just might know your song!

You don't need to have a new solo or group number. We just want to see you dance. Solos, especially, always look different from one performance to another. Live music is always different.
If not dancing to live music, please send your pre-recorded music to [email protected].

We do have the small back room to do quick costume changes in. If someone has a couple of mirrors they could bring for the event, please do...and let us know.

MENAHT with Halimeda on Saturday (My 23) 10:00 - 11:00 class Fun with Veils, some new combos to play with. 11:15 - 12:46 class will zills, pointy things (theatrical sword), choreography...

Music playtime at 1:ish for Mediterranean music. We are practicing for Student & Teacher Night on June 1st but anyone is welcome to join in!

Our schedule for the week...is basically an empty week with ***no dance classes and no music play time***. 😢 Halimeda's Oasis has a big show in Sarasota starting Friday; inventory, packing, traveling, vending and getting back home is consuming this week/part of next.

Congratulations to Carrie Ley and the Shimmy Mob team's show. It takes a leader and a team to pull off that kind of event!

Please put the evening of June 1st on your calendar for our Student/Teacher night at Casa Grande (same restaurant as last time, different name.) We want YOU to share your dance and music: solos, duets, groups ...

And...if you are a student of Halimeda or 'Aukai AND are not getting a text message with the schedule, please let me know. I found the group was dropping people🤨

Just a reminder that there is ***no hula class** tonight 5/7/2026.

There is one combined MENAHT dance class on Saturday morning, May 9th, at 10:00. Bring zills, veils and enthusiasm!! I'm only doing the 1 so that I can get home and get ready for Shimmy Mob show at Dukes & Dotties.

Sunday music play time, May 10th, at ***2:30 - 4:00**. I'll have more on Efem to liven it up. I hope to have an intro / concept borrowed from some other versions.

Keep those Shimmy Mob dances and lets have some more!! We have a Student / Teacher Night scheduled at the same restaurant as last time. Please plan to join in June 1 at, come at 6:00 and we'll start the dancing at 6:30ish. All dances based in folkloric traditions...no matter how far back...are welcome. All friends and families are welcome!

The restaurant has changed its name to reflect recent additions to the menu. Casa Grande Latin Fusion is the new name. The food was so good last time; I can't wait to see what else they have.

I'll take the music and requests as soon as you have them. Lost in the Desert will play. Hopefully some of you will dance with us...we need YOU! The Mau'oli'oli will do Wailau and Troupe Arabesque will debut Filii Neidhardi with & without sword. All Saturday students that know Filii Neidhardi should plan to participate. Of course...Shimmy Mobbers should plan to do that number.

I really want to catch up with everyone before we leave for the summer. I know I'm going to be so bored and lonely without my dance and music friends!!!! So let's party enough to carry through!
