Today, our school community pauses to remember September 11, 2001, and the many lives that were changed forever.

We honor the brave firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, and everyday heroes who showed courage, kindness, and selflessness during one of our nation’s most difficult days.

As we remember, we also remind our students of the importance of kindness, courage, helping others, and standing together. ❤️🤍💙

We remember those we lost, we honor those who served, and we will never forget. 🇺🇸

Mrs. McLeod’s class has been having fun learning about place value and repeated addition in math!

They’ve been using base-ten blocks to build numbers and understand the value of each digit. They’ve also been using counters to build arrays and connect equal groups to repeated addition.

Hands-on learning makes math meaningful, and our students are doing a great job building their math skills!

PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION FOR SCHOOL-SPONSORED EVENTS

Wakulla County Schools is reminding families that students may request approval to use private transportation for athletic events, extracurricular activities, field trips and other school-sponsored events.

The required Parental Consent and Release of Liability for Private Transportation form must be completed, submitted to school administration at least 24 hours before the event, and approved by the school principal.

Requests involving a student driving themselves or riding with another adult require notarization.

A written note or sign-out sheet alone does not meet current policy requirements.

View and complete the required form here: https://aptg.co/YMxLNj

📚❤️ Reading Buddies ❤️📚

Mrs. Bowen’s 4th grade class is teaming up with Mrs. Willis’ 1st grade class for Reading Buddies this year! Today, our 4th graders helped their 1st grade buddies take an AR test on their very first library book.

We love seeing our older students encourage, support, and inspire our younger readers! What a wonderful way to build a love of reading and create special connections across grade levels!

Science in Action in Mrs. Johnson’s Class!

Mrs. Johnson’s first graders learned about the scientific method through a fun ice cube experiment! Students made predictions, tested their ideas, and carefully recorded their observations.

They discovered that the ice melted faster in their hands than on the table! They also had the opportunity to practice using a science tool they learned about last week—the magnifying glass!

What a fun way to learn, explore, and think like scientists!
