Jeffrey Dean Weir
Nov. 26, 1958 — April 12, 2023
Indianapolis

Jeffrey Dean Weir died peacefully at home on April 12, 2023, after a noble battle with cancer.

Jeff lived a robust, memorable life with his beloved Natalie and doted on his adored daughter, Jessica Ruth. He loved concerts and music, especially John Prine. He could always be convinced to have a beer and a conversation with family and friends. He tinkered on many projects from home renovation to rebuilding a car in his garage and took his evenings on the porch or by the fire. Often he’d dispense some sage and practical wisdom that grounded his loved ones but mostly he ployed his wit to great laughter. He never missed a chance to cheer for the Pittsburgh Steelers or (his wife’s alma mater) the Purdue Boilermakers—Jeff graduated cm laude from Indiana University.

He was predeceased by his father Merrill Dean Weir, Grandpa Joel Weir, Grandma Ruth Weir, Grandma Gladys Cox, Papaw Lee Cox, Mamaw “Bert” Alberta Cox, and Papaw “Unc” Earl Cox.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife Natalie Anne Green Weir, daughter Jess Green Turi (Zane), his mother Connie Weir, sister Amy Cotten, and brother Joel Weir (Maria). His nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends who are family, and many beloved canine and feline fans remember him for his constancy, care and hilarity.

The family is grateful for the love and support for all who ministered for, showed up, and told stories about Jeff.

With quiet diligence, Jeff left the world a better place for each creature he met. He was passionate about social justice. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the social justice organization of your choice, or contribute to the Hello In There Foundation, which seeks to provide support for the marginalized, discriminated against, or otherwise forgotten. https://www.thehellointherefoundation.org

There will be a visitation at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Carmel, IN at 12pm followed by a Eucharistic Memorial Service at 1pm on Saturday, April 29. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Jeff’s life will happen following the service at the house that Jeff built. As “my daddy” would say, “For these and all of the celebrations for Jeff, we bid your prayer and participation.” Shalom, stardust.

Our MissionThe Hello in There Foundation is an initiative established by the family of John Prine, to honor his memory and continue the love, kindness and generosity he shared with the world. The work of the foundation will be inspired and guided by John’s simple song title, Hello In There. Our mi...

Crawfordsville High School Class of 1977,
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your summer!
I have had a change of heart about our CHS - Class of 1977 - 45th Class Reunion and not having one this year.
So here is the deal. We WILL be having a CHS - Class of '77 - 45th Class Reunion on Saturday, September 10th, 2022, starting at 6:30pm, at The Creekside Lodge, located along Sugar Creek, at 613 Lafayette Ave., Crawfordsville.
I will not be doing anything for this event. It will be a gathering place for all of our classmates who want to come and hang out for the evening and celebrate our 45 years out of High School. I have the outside area reserved for us to hang out in.
You can order off their menu, or eat before you come. You can order your own drinks. I will not be running a Bar Tab. Everyone is on their own for the evening. :-)
I will plan to have a class photo taken that evening, maybe around 8:00pm but definitely before it gets dark. I will have a sign up sheet for anyone who wants a copy of the class photo, to give me their updated address, phone number and email. I may ask for a small donation for the printing of the photo, an envelope to mail them in and postage to mail them out.
Please spread the word about our 45th Reunion to any of our Classmates, especially if you are in touch with any of them and who might not see this post.
IF we would have to cancel last minute, please look for my post on here and on my personal FB page. I hope we don't have to cancel, but with the way of the World right now, you never know (thus, why I didn't plan a Reunion this year in the first place).
IF you decide to come, please try to send me a message on here or message my page or text me on my cell phone and let me know you will be attending.
If you won't know whether you can make it until that day, that is fine. Please come and show up!
Hope to see you on Saturday, September 10, 2022 @ 6:30pm at The Creekside Lodge.
I Love Our CHS - Class of '77 Classmates! 😍

Dear Crawfordsville High School Class of 1977 Classmates.
Hope all of you are doing well.
After some very long and hard deliberations, I have decided not to plan our 45th Class Reunion for this summer.
There are still too many uncertainties with the COVID-19 Virus. Yes, things are better right now, but as we all know, that can change very quickly.
I would hate to plan something, and then if we had to cancel at the last moment, that those traveling couldn't get refunds.
I know there are many people still not traveling because of the COVID-19 Virus. And with the economy going as it is, some may not be able to travel anywhere for a while.
I have talked to several classmates about this and they totally understand.
But, if any of our classmates are interested in planning our 45th Class Reunion for this year, I am happy to turn this over to anyone that wants to plan it. Please contact me ASAP.
To All of our CHS - Class of '77 Classmates - Love You All!
Hugs and Love,
Tami Rohn Utterback
