There’s still time to join Southmont Show Choir! 🎶

Open auditions will be held Wednesday, August 26 from 3–5 p.m. in the Southmont Choir Room for students interested in joining one of our show choirs:

🎤 Young Originals — Grades 6–8
🎤 Panache — Grades 9–12
🎤 Sudden Impulse — Grades 9–12

Current show choir members are already set for the season and do NOT need to re-audition. These auditions are for students who are not currently members but would like the opportunity to join!

The audition song will be, "Over the Rainbow." Students can join the Google Classroom using the code w7qchit4 to access practice tracks and additional information.

Know someone who belongs on stage? Encourage them to give it a try!

Southmont Schools is proud to celebrate International STEM Accreditation across all four of our K–8 schools through STEM.org - an achievement that recognizes the incredible work happening every day at Southmont Jr. High School, Ladoga Elementary School, New Market Elementary School, and Walnut Elementary School.

This accreditation reflects years of intentional work by our teachers, staff, students, and community partners to create hands-on, real-world learning opportunities that build creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. From robotics and coding to agriculture, engineering, advanced manufacturing, and beyond, our students are gaining experiences that prepare them for wherever their futures may lead.

We’re incredibly proud of our students and staff - and we think this accomplishment is worth putting on a billboard!

Welcome, Drum Corps International! 🥁

📣 Drum Corps International is Coming to Southmont! 🎺🥁

We are thrilled to announce that Southmont Sr. High School will be hosting three incredible world-class drum corps this summer!

⭐ Santa Clara Vanguard – July 26
⭐ Columbians Drum & Bugle Corps – July 27–28
⭐ Madison Scouts– August 4–?

This is an amazing opportunity to welcome Marching Music's Major League to Montgomery County! These elite ensembles travel the country performing at the highest level, and we're honored that they've chosen Southmont as a rehearsal site.

Even better, fans will have the opportunity to watch portions of their rehearsals! Viewing times will be announced closer to each visit, so stay tuned for more details and ways to help make their stay memorable!

Let's give these incredible musicians a warm Southmont welcome and show them what Mountie Pride is all about! ❤️🩶🎶
