Day two of the Chapter Officer Retreat: The important part of day two that we were able to look at as a chapter was our Program of Activities and getting our schedule for the year figured out. We were able to get some good wheels started in terms of mapping out our year of events. Special thanks to the Chapter Officers for being able to take time out of their busy Summer schedules to attend the Chapter Officer Retreat and Mrs. Betson for helping to serve as our Advisor Assistant and female chaperone for the trip.

Day one of the Chapter Officer Retreat: We were able to make it to the Black Hills. We had lunch in Spearfish then had two successful workshops, the first over types of leaders using the True Color Assessment. We had the great opportunity to meet with Mrs. Bellah from National FFA as she talked to us about utilizing committees. and then the officers worked on drafting Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely (SMART) goals. Thank you Black Hills State University for allowing us to use your campus! After we made a shopping trip to Walmart and the chapter officers worked in their respective groups to get their grocery items. We got checked into our AirBNB and the officers made supper, consisting of a spaghetti casserole, homemade salad and snicker salad. After we got the supper mess cleaned up we changed into our Official Dress and traveled our way to Mount Rushmore. The last event before returning to home station was getting some ice cream quick in Keystone! Stay tuned for day two of the Chapter Officer Retreat.

Two of our chapter officers, Garrett Tollman- President and Teague Edelman - Parliamentarian, were able to attend the 2026 Summer Workshop Range Judging Camp with Mr. Aasgaard at Chadron State College. They learned about the characteristics that define a range site, along with the differences between grasses, grass-like, forb and shrub plants. They also got to experience a wonderful class put on by past State Officer and Crawford FFA alumni, Alexa Tollman on understanding the environmental impacts of a range site. Garrett and Teague were able to compete in a Range Judging live plant contest. Garrett Tollman received a 2nd place ribbon and Teague placed 3rd amongst their age division. Wonderful job guys!!!”

Dalton, Ty A, and Emma received their state degrees last night. Environmental and natural resources also competed yesterday (Tehgan, Ty C, Peyton Olson, Taylor). Garetts speaking event was natural resources. Lizzy & Leea compete on Friday in junior high discovery and ag literacy speaking. Joe L attended as a delegate!
