Attention Parents & Guardians!

Taconic Hills CSD is continuing to use the Rooms feature within the Taconic Hills CSD App to make it easier for families to stay connected with our schools.

Through Rooms, you can communicate directly with your student’s teachers, coaches, extracurricular advisors, and more! We’ve recently added both Health Offices, allowing you to connect directly with our school nurses as well.

This Sunday, you will receive an email invitation to join your student’s Rooms. Make sure you have the Taconic Hills CSD App downloaded and updated so you don’t miss out!

Stay connected, and stay informed!

The Board of Education adopted the revised Code of Conduct for the 2026–2027 school year at last night’s Board of Education meeting. We want to highlight some of the key updates and expectations for the upcoming school year.

Students must be in “Good Standing” to participate in athletics, clubs, extracurricular activities, and certain student privileges, including on-campus parking and senior-specific activities. Students who do not meet these expectations may lose eligibility until they demonstrate sustained improvement.

What Does “Good Standing” Mean?

A student in Good Standing demonstrates consistent attendance, positive behavior, and academic responsibility.

To remain in Good Standing, students must:
- Maintain at least a 95% attendance rate during each marking quarter
- Have no more than three tardies and/or early dismissals per marking quarter
- Have no more than two disciplinary referrals per quarter
- Maintain academic eligibility, with no failing or incomplete grades in more than one subject
- Follow the District Code of Conduct and demonstrate appropriate behavior

Eligibility does not reset when a new athletic season or extracurricular activity begins. Attendance and eligibility are monitored throughout the school year.

Other Important Updates
- Backpack & Bag Policy (Grades 6–12): Backpacks and bags carried throughout the school building must be fully clear/see-through. Non-clear bags must be stored in student lockers immediately upon arrival. An example of an acceptable clear backpack can be found here: https://a.co/d/09R9IDr5
- Attendance & Activities: Students must be present and on time for the full school day to participate in or attend after-school activities, athletics, clubs, and events, unless they receive prior administrative approval.
- Personal Electronic Devices: In accordance with Bell-to-Bell cell phone requirements, students may not use personal electronic devices during the school day. Students in Grades 7–12 are expected to leave devices at home or secure them in a Yondr pouch. Students in Grades 6 and below are expected to leave devices at home or secure them in their lockers or cubbies.
- Grades 7–12 Bathrooms: All bathrooms will be reopened for students in Grades 7–12. We will closely monitor the condition and use of these facilities throughout the school year. In the event of vandalism or intentional destruction, Building Administration will work to identify and address the students responsible rather than implementing restrictions that affect the entire student body.

These updates are intended to provide clear, consistent expectations while supporting attendance, academic responsibility, positive behavior, and participation in our school community. While we have established clear expectations and accountability, we also want to recognize and celebrate students who consistently meet those expectations. Throughout the school year, we will continue to reward and recognize positive behavior, good attendance, academic effort, and responsible choices. Our goal is to create an environment where students understand what is expected of them and feel encouraged and supported in making positive choices.

We are looking for girls in grades 7–9 interested in participating in Modified Soccer or Modified Field Hockey! ⚽🏑

Our Modified Girls Soccer and Modified Field Hockey teams each need just 4–6 more participants to complete their teams.

This is a great opportunity to try something new, learn new skills, make new friends, and be part of a team.

The Superintendent wants you! She’s looking forward to seeing you show off your skills at a game coming soon on a field at Taconic Hills. Girls can do it! 🧡🌟

Who’s up for the challenge? 💪🏼Practices Start on Monday, August 31!
