At the recent ExploraVision national science competition, Nye also stressed the importance of consistently exposing children to science from an early age, stating: "Every day in every grade. It's as important a topic as reading and writing and arithmetic. If you want innovation, if you want to have the engineers of tomorrow, you have to have science."
