A huge THANK YOU to the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association for their generous donation of ballistic helmets to the Crandall ISD Police Department!

Quality ballistic equipment is expensive, but it is also potentially life-saving equipment when officers are called to respond to the most dangerous situations. Organizations like the USDSA do incredible work by helping provide law enforcement agencies across the country with critical equipment and resources that might otherwise be difficult to obtain.

Every day when we send our children to school. we should never have to wonder if they're safe inside the building. The officers at Crandall ISD Police in Texas are more prepared to care for our children in an emergency because of the donation of ballistic helmets from USDSA

"Our officers are entrusted with the responsibility of protecting our students and staff, and in the most critical moments, they are the ones who will run toward danger rather than away from it. The lifesaving equipment you have provided ensures they are better protected and equipped to respond decisively should the unthinkable occur. These helmets will be issued to officers assigned across our district campuses, enhancing their ability to safeguard our schools and our community each day."" - Timothy Pavoich, Cheif of Police Crandall ISD

Welcome back, Pirates! We appreciate everyone’s patience with the organized chaos aka the traffic through town.

Our officers were out directing traffic all morning and afternoon, including the Chief, who learned once again that a bald head and Texas August sun are a dangerous combination. We appreciate everyone stopping to give us waters and Gatorade’s!

Here’s some pics of Officer Todd James and some of his kiddos at Walker Elementary.

Convocation got us off to a great start of the 26’-27’ school year. As we get ready to start back this Thursday, here a a few things to remember:

🚨 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL TRAFFIC REMINDER 🚨

The first day of school is here, and we’re just going to say it: traffic is going to be an absolute mess. Please slow down, leave early, and give yourself plenty of extra time.

Our teachers and administrators will be doing everything they can to make arrival and dismissal go as smoothly as possible. We also understand that, by approximately the third car in line, several drivers will have developed a “much better” traffic plan. 😏 However, please follow the traffic pattern currently in place so everyone remains safe and traffic can keep moving.

A few important reminders:

* Do not block roadways.
* Do not block campus entrances or exits.
* Do not block stop signs.
* Do not stop or park within 30 feet of a stop sign while waiting for dismissal.
* Stay off your cellphone while driving through pickup and drop-off lines.
* Be courteous to other drivers and especially to the staff members standing in the Texas heat to help keep your children safe.

We are aware of the traffic concerns and problem areas. Our officers will be greeting students, maintaining visibility in common areas, walking hallways, directing traffic, helping children out of vehicles, working crosswalks, and much more. They will be doing everything possible to help our schools begin the year safely.

Please be patient. The process will take time to come together and work itself out. Leave early, expect delays, follow directions, and remember that everyone out there is working toward the same goal: getting every child safely onto campus and safely back home.

🚨 We’re Hiring — And No, We’re Not Looking for Someone to Just Fill a Position.

We’re looking for the right person to join our team.

At the Crandall ISD Police Department, school-based law enforcement is about more than a badge and a uniform. It’s about relationships, prevention, preparation, and being the kind of officer students and staff know they can count on.

We want officers who can talk to a kindergartner, connect with a teenager, work alongside educators, and still be prepared to respond when someone’s worst day becomes our responsibility.

If you’re looking for a place where you can make an impact, build relationships, train, grow, and actually become part of the community you serve, we’d like to hear from you.

And yes… summers and school holidays off are pretty hard to argue with.

⚠️IMPORTANT⚠️

Step 1: Apply at www.crandall-isd.net

Step 2: if you meet the qualifications you will be sent an email with dates and times for the physical fitness and oral board.

*Minimum starting salary with less than 3 years full-time experience is $65,000.

All officers, administrators, our sped department and counselors attended BTA training today. Great training today with Bruno Dias, PhD, CTM™, PCI, and Matt Talbot, PhD, LCSW, CTM.

Today was about more than Behavioral Threat Assessment training, it was about strengthening the operational process behind it.

We had the opportunity to train with Key Operational Insights and dig deeper into the why behind Behavioral Threat Assessments: understanding how concerns move from initial identification to structured assessment, intervention, management, and ongoing monitoring.

This work also gives us an opportunity to examine our existing policies and procedures, identify gaps, strengthen documentation and accountability, and reduce organizational liability

We had a great time at the Back 2 School Bash! It was wonderful seeing so many of our students, families, staff, and community members as we get ready for another great school year.

Of course, K9 Vix was the star of the show—as always—and loved all the attention!
