Another great day of teacher training at CCA! ☀️

We started the morning with teacher photos for our badges, so everyone was dressed up a little—and, of course, we had to take advantage of it and get a few group pictures! Best of all, Patty was finally in the picture, so our official CCA team photo is now complete. Nobody is allowed to miss picture day again! 😂

We also got a picture of our behind-the-scenes guys. Their official title may be “furniture assemblers,” but they have also served as movers, fixers, problem-solvers, heavy lifters, and listeners to all our last-minute ideas. Bless them—they never know what job they’re walking into! 🔨😂

I still didn’t get a picture of our new mailbox. Apparently, spelling our street name correctly was a little too much to ask, so we’re waiting for its replacement before giving it a Facebook debut. The electric bill can wait anyway! 📬😂

Tomorrow is CPR training, so I’ll be posting pictures of everyone saving lives—or possibly just trying to remember the correct number of chest compressions! ❤️

We have been incredibly blessed to welcome the very best families to CCA! ☀️ Tomorrow, our amazing teachers begin their second week of training—and somehow, they’re all still smiling! 😂

We now have our front-entry fence, a beautiful gated entrance and…wait for it…a mailbox! 📬 I didn’t get a picture of the mailbox, but don’t worry—I will. At this point, every little thing deserves its own photo shoot!

I’m not exactly excited for the electric bill to find its way into that new mailbox, though. Meter has been working overtime trying to keep up with this Texas heat. Bless her hardworking little heart! 🥵😂

Our infant class is filling up quickly, which means lots of sweet babies to love and rock. We may need to add “professional baby snuggler” to the job description! 💛

I’ll post more pictures tomorrow, including our updated classrooms. They are looking SO good—and yes, I promise to take pictures before I get distracted by the mailbox! ☀️

Week One of Teacher Training is officially in the books! ☀️💛

And let me tell you…these teachers are TROOPERS! We have been nonstop all week—learning, training, laughing, and getting to know one another. And somehow, in the middle of all that work, we have had the most fun!

Our students are truly in for a treat. We have such a special group of teachers, and you can already see how much they care about the children who will soon be walking through our doors. We are ALL so excited! 🥰

And today brought another BIG milestone…

We completed our final inspection for our Certificate of Occupancy! 🙌☀️

We are getting SO close! We have two more big things to finish—the front fence and gate—plus a few little repairs here and there…and I think that’s it! Every day, another box gets checked. ❤️

And YES…after forgetting all week, we finally remembered the group picture! 😂 Unfortunately, we were missing Patty, so this one isn’t quite complete.

Tuesday everyone is getting their teacher pictures taken for their badges, so we’ll try again when we’re all dressed a little snazzier! 😉📸

One week of training down, one more to go!

I did it again… I did NOT get a teacher group picture today! 🤦‍♀️😂

But don’t worry—I have now reminded everyone to remind ME that it is the FIRST thing we are doing tomorrow morning! 📸☀️

Picture or not, we had another GREAT day of teacher training at Crandall Christian Academy! We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and had so much fun getting to know each other better. I already love seeing this team come together and the relationships that are forming. 💛

And once again, we were spoiled! Nila prepared lunch for us today, so we were very well fed while we trained. She has definitely taken good care of the CCA crew this week! 🥰

So… tomorrow is THE day.
The elusive CCA teacher group picture WILL happen. 😂📸

☀️ Our CCA Team Is Officially Here! ☀️

Today was a BIG day at Crandall Christian Academy—our teachers officially started! 💛

We kicked off our first morning together with the most delicious breakfast catered by my sweet granddaughter, Nila. And when I say she thought of everything, I mean everything! From breakfast to the cutest goodie boxes and flower pen arrangements for our desks, she made our first day feel extra special. 🌸

And y’all… we have the BEST team. When I say that, I truly mean it. We have been blessed with teachers who genuinely have hearts for children, and spending today together made me even more excited about the team God has brought to CCA. ❤️

Of course, because we’re still putting the finishing touches on a brand-new school, our first training day came with a few construction adventures! 😂 Fire alarms were being tested throughout the day, our facial-recognition door locks were being installed, and the finishing touches were being made on our 36 indoor and outdoor security cameras.

So, yes… training happened with a few beeps, alarms, installers and interruptions mixed in. 😂 But we made it through Day One, and most importantly, we loved having the opportunity to slow down and really get to know our CCA team.

And somehow, after ALL of that…

WHY did I not get a picture of us?! 🤦‍♀️😂

I promise I’ll fix that tomorrow!

Tomorrow is Day Two of training, hopefully with a little fun thrown in—and Nila is making lunch for us! 💛

☀️ A little sneak peek! ☀️

Today we made some exciting progress at Crandall Christian Academy! Our classrooms are still a work in progress, but they are getting so close to being ready—and we couldn’t resist sharing a little peek! 🥰

Mr. Ralph has been busy adding even more of our happy little sunshines throughout the classrooms ☀️, and our teacher workroom is starting to come together, too!

But one of the things we’re most excited about… our teachers start Tuesday! 🎉

Over the next couple of weeks, our team will be training, preparing classrooms, learning routines, and getting everything ready to welcome our students. We want to be intentional about making sure our teachers feel prepared and our school is ready before those little feet come walking through the doors. 💛

There’s still work to do, but every shelf organized, every sunshine painted, and every classroom put together brings us one step closer.

It’s starting to feel like a school, and we can hardly wait to fill these rooms with our CCA families! ☀️💛

💙 CCA Update: It’s All Starting to Come Together! 💙

We are checking things off the list and getting everything ready for our teachers next week! 🙌📚

We know everyone has been waiting for pictures—and trust us, we’ve been dying to show you! 😂 We’re just waiting for those last paint touch-ups to be finished so we can finally put the furniture in place and let you see the classrooms the way we’ve envisioned them.

But the very best part of this week hasn’t been the building at all.

It’s been the people. 💙

We’ve had the opportunity to meet so many of our new families this week, and somehow they already don’t feel like “new families.” They’re starting to feel like our CCA family, and that makes everything we’ve worked so hard for feel completely worth it.

And to everyone who has walked through our doors this week and said, “What can I do?”—THANK YOU.

Thank you for unpacking boxes, organizing what feels like 10,000 tiny things, cleaning, moving things around, and sometimes just standing there giving us the moral support we desperately needed. 😂

Opening a school definitely takes a village… and apparently that village needs to be really good at opening boxes. 📦🤣

We are tired, grateful, excited, and probably running on more caffeine than we should admit—but every single day we get a little closer.

And those classroom pictures? 👀📸

They’re coming. We promise.

We just need the paintbrushes to leave the building first. 😂💙

📣 CCA Update: Not Much to Report… But A LOT Is Happening! 😂💙

We don’t have a big dramatic update today—and honestly, after our construction adventures, we’re perfectly okay with that. 😅

Right now, we’re busy doing the 1,247 little things nobody tells you about when you decide to open a school. 😂

Organizing, labeling, unpacking, hanging, arranging, checking lists, checking the lists we made for the other lists… and then remembering three more things that weren’t on any of the lists. 🤦‍♀️🤣

But every little thing checked off means we’re one step closer to welcoming our CCA families through those doors! 💙

And speaking of what’s happening behind those doors… 👀

☀️ CCA Progress Update: LOOK AT US GETTING THINGS DONE! 😂🙌

Things are changing by the hour around here, and it’s getting SO exciting!

☀️ Our playground shade sails are UP!
🚗 Our parking lot is STRIPED!
🛝 Our playground is coming together!
📚 And our classrooms are getting closer and closer!

Y’all… we’re starting to look like a real school around here! 😂💙

The shade sails are up and looking AMAZING—and because this is Texas, we’re pretty sure shade deserves its own celebration. ☀️😅

The parking lot is freshly striped, which may not sound exciting… but when you’ve been building a school, you suddenly find yourself standing in a parking lot admiring painted lines like they’re a work of art. 😂

And just wait until you see what’s happening INSIDE!

It’s starting to feel less like a construction project and more like…

🚨 HR Update: Everyone, meet our newest employee… METER! ⚡😂

Well… she finally decided to report for work this morning!

She even showed up with an escort—two Oncor trucks. Talk about making an entrance! 🚛🚛

Well, that rumor didn’t age well! Meter wasn’t subcontracted after all. Poor thing hadn’t even clocked in yet, and we’d already nominated her for “Most Likely to Get Written Up on Day One.” 😂

Fortunately, we decided to give her one more chance.

She clocked in at 00000 and immediately got to work.

💡 Lights? ON.
❄️ A/C? Cooling things down.
⚡ Electricity? Flowing.
😊 Attitude? Outstanding.

Turns out Meter is an excellent employee… she was just a little late to orientation. 🤣

So, welcome aboard, Meter! We’re happy to report you’ve redeemed yourself on Day 2.

After weeks of wires, inspections, mystery paperwork, and enough plot twists to qualify for our own TV series…

WE HAVE POWER!! 🎉🙌⚡

The lights are on, the A/C is cranked down, and for the first time, the building is starting to feel like a real school instead of a really expensive flashlight. 😅
