As part of winding down our operations, access to Sterling College email accounts and Google Drive accounts will end on August 31, 2026. After that date, you will no longer be able to access messages, files, or other materials stored in your Sterling Google account.

If you have anything in your Sterling email or Google Drive that you would like to retain, please take the time to download or transfer it to a personal account before August 31.

The Sterling Institute for Conservation and Community Leadership has asked whether we may share limited directory information—your name, mailing address, email address, and, if applicable, alumni details such as Sterling era and class year—to help them connect with individuals who may be interested in their work to sustain Sterling’s legacy.

The Sterling College campus prospectus and solicitation for offers is now live. Vermont Commercial Real Estate will receive offers until July 20. After the deadline, the Board of Trustees will review all bids and make a decision about the future of the campus.

June 1, 2026 - An Update from the Sterling College Board of Trustees

Thanks to their commitment to students, the Sterling faculty and staff completed a highly successful final semester for the credited degree programming. Their efforts were punctuated by a graduation on May 16th attended by many former faculty, staff, and alumni. It was a celebration of the 65 years of impact that our small but mighty Sterling College has had on students and the Craftsbury community. Read the full update here:

Sterling College, a nationally recognized environmental college offering a single major in Environmental Studies and intentionally capped at 125 students, has announced it will conclude its Associate and Bachelor’s degree programs at the end of the Spring 2026 semester.

Congratulations to the final graduating class of Sterling College!

On Saturday, May 16, alumni, families, neighbors, friends, and former faculty, staff, and trustees who made the trek from near and far to the Northeast Kingdom to celebrate these remarkable students and all they have accomplished.

The love, support, and sense of community that filled campus was a powerful reminder of what makes Sterling so special. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us in honoring this milestone and these extraordinary graduates.

Congratulations, Class of 2026—we can't wait to see where your journeys lead.

Join us for a free evening of music at Sterling College this Friday, May 15th. Students, alumni, current and former faculty & staff, and friends of the college will share songs that remind them of their Sterling experiences. If you wish to perform, please register at the link below. Otherwise, just bring yourself and a lawn chair or blanket! Music begins at 6:15 outside Dunbar Dining Hall.
