School staff are meeting and getting things prepared for this first month of school not in person. Parents, you will be getting a call soon and a date will be given to pickup chrome books, or workbooks for the little ones. Mr. Abbott will be sending out an all call as well. Dates to pick up should be the 26th or 27th. Know that students are not expected to begin online lessons on the 26th. Next week will be getting everything lined up and ready to go for the following week.

This was probably sent out on the district page. I didn’t check, but just in case, here it is to clear up any confusion. Again, changes can still happen, but as of now, this is what our kids will do.
Mrs. Childress and I have talked to several we work with and we’re all so devastated with the situation. We hope other states have success with their schools opening in person, staying healthy, and we’ll be able to do the same next month.

Pretty soon, info on this page will mainly be for the new 3rd graders. You may want to unfollow this page, but you’re welcome to stay on of course if you like. You can continue to contact Mrs. Childress and I anytime you need us. We wish you well!!!

Looks like we got together just in time!
Governor took gatherings back down to 10 or less now.
I know this virus is real and serious. But I also know for a fact that a friend of mine took 2 Covid tests. She got results back in 15 minutes with one and the other was a 3-5 day wait. She tested negative on one and positive on the other. Maybe several are testing positive with the fast result one? I’ve read it’s only 60% effective. She had no symptoms. She took due to a family gathering coming up, just to be safe. Another friend, knows a person in Rockcastle that went to the doctor not feeling well, waited 2 hours in the waiting room, finally went back home, never to see anyone at the dr office. He got a letter in the mail later from there that his Covid test came back positive. He was never seen! I’ve heard many other stories like these but I personally know the people that told these two. So I’m sharing these two examples because the numbers the media are sharing, can’t be accurate. We need to be cautious but I hope this helps someone to not live in fear based on what’s on the news. I had terrible anxiety with sickness several years ago. It was so bad, that I would have to leave work at times, and I wanted to just lock down the house and disinfect everything, being so terrified of getting so sick. I imagine this virus could make someone feel this way. I hope this takes away a little anxiety if anyone is having it. This is just my personal opinion, I’m NOT speaking for school or our district.

How wonderful it was to see these kiddos!! We ate icecream, had snacks, and drank like we hadn’t ever before! Lol! Temps were taken, screening questions asked, masks worn. (Not for pictures of course) This group will always be special to us. We were so jipped. We didn’t get to do everything we had planned. Our time together was cut so short. I missed getting pictures with a few. We missed those unable to make it.

Please let us know if you are coming. We are bringing icecream and popsicles.
We decided to do evening since it has been so hot.
We must follow guidelines-
-take temps when arriving
-ask screening questions
-practice social distancing and wear masks when we are close to each other and not distancing.

We hope this does not keep anyone from coming. Regardless of our opinions, we have to follow guidelines.

If you are not comfortable bringing your child, we completely understand.

You may drop off your child or stay.
