Stealth dyslexia is the term often used to refer to students whose high vocabulary and background knowledge, along with solid comprehension scores, mask their true struggle at the word level.

Dyslexics are very bright and learn great skills to mask their learning differences. I encourage all educators to be more curious about your students, especially those that it doesn’t make sense they would be struggling with their reading.
