Conference presentation #8 is in the books! 🎤⭐

Today marked my third time presenting at the OSSBA/CCOSA Conference in OKC and my eighth professional development presentation overall, sharing the inner workings of the Jones Academy of Mathematics and the MBI.

This one hit a little differently. It was pretty cool representing Coyle, talking about something that started right inside my own classroom, and having the brand-new JAM website hosting my entire presentation right there behind me. What started years ago as a few crazy ideas to make math class more engaging just keeps growing.

Next stop: Presentation #9 at the OKATE Ignite Conference in Tulsa this November! 🔥

Math Hopper is live — and it’s the toughest one yet.

I just finished building Math Hopper, the newest (and most challenging) game in the Jones Academy of Mathematics daily math challenge series. It’s a Frogger-style crossing game mixed with real math: you have to hop your frog across traffic and water while only landing on the correct answers.
Wrong answers, cars, snakes, alligators, and water will cost you. Double-tap the wrong ones to clear them for a little extra cash… but don’t blow up a correct one or you’re going to regret it.
We’ve now got seven different math games that rotate daily. Log in once a day, take on the challenge of the day, and earn some extra classroom cash for your efforts.

Gorilla.bas is back.
The classic 90s banana-throwing gorilla game has been revived as Gorilla.Math on the Jones Academy of Mathematics site — now with real math challenges built in.
Catch bananas by solving problems, then launch them back at the computer gorilla just like the old days.

Also brought back to life earlier this week: Mathman (a tribute to the 1980s/1990s math focused SquareOne TV Show).

The new JAM website is live.l!!!

Same About Mr. Jones & JAM info… but now it’s a full interactive student experience with MBI*Trade.
Students can: • Cash in classroom dollars into digital credit
• Buy & sell real and MBI stocks
• Use it like a bank (cash out for the class store or seat rentals)
• Shop the new MBI Online Store
• Track stats, climb leaderboards, and take on Black Star Challenges
