A huge congratulations to Dr. Marcus Pollard on achieving Industry Recertification in Forestry!
Recertification is required every five years, and thanks to Dr. Pollard's continued dedication, the Forestry program at NCCA has proudly maintained its industry certification since 2015.

A special thank you to our North Region Ag. Education staff and industry contacts for coming out today.

What an incredible way to wrap up our final day of school!

Notice anything special about this first picture?

There’s a newborn fawn hiding in the leaves, perfectly camouflaged by its surroundings.

Did you know mother deer often leave their fawns alone for hours at a time? It’s a survival strategy. The baby’s spotted coat helps it blend in with the landscape, and it stays completely still to avoid attracting predators. The mother is usually nearby, watching from a distance and returning periodically to nurse.

So if you ever come across a fawn like this, don’t worry, it’s not abandoned. The best thing you can do is leave it be.

Can you spot this one?

Basic Agricultural Education classes have had an exceptional time collaborating with NCCA’s Culinary program. We combined forces to learn how to candle and grade eggs. Students were able to dissect the eggs and label their parts as to how it relates to production agriculture, as well as culinary cuisine. We took advantage of the cross-curricular efforts to make a delicious bagel breakfast sandwich to learn the ins-and-outs of a professional kitchen! We are very thankful for Chef Beverly Stahl and her class for letting us team up!

Last Friday, FFA associates were able to help Hays Tractor & Equipment, Inc. with their annual Kubota event with parking, greeting guests, and other various tasks. We are thankful for their gracious partnership with Newton College & Career Academy FFA. Ag Mechanics students were able to also provide metal Kubota tractors cutouts out from our plasma table to be raffled away. Special thanks to Sheila Hays Massey and Andrew Hays Massey for allowing us to help out!

We had a busy Friday! FFA livestock students had the opportunity to show Mansfield's 2nd grade some of their animals and tell a little bit about how they take care of them. Special thanks to Joe Marks and Summer Jacques for bringing their calf and cow. We loved the opportunity to teach the younger generation about different farm animals!
