Join Rockdale County Parks and Recreation for a fun-filled morning at our “Learn How to Fish” program! Youth ages 4–13 will learn fishing basics, knot-tying, and casting before hitting the water for catch-and-release fun.

Tunisia Pryor is a dedicated Kindergarten Readiness Coach committed to helping early learners build strong foundations for success! 🍎📚

With a heart for children and a passion for early education, Tunisia specializes in preparing students for kindergarten by focusing on:

Dr. Seuss Book Day: Celebrating Read Across America Week returns to the on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., weather permitting. Celebrate the value and importance of reading, child friendly books and activities will be available as we reach the end of Read Across America Week.

📗Visit local organization tables including the Newton County Farm Bureau, Keep Newton Beautiful , Newton Trails and the Newton County Library System for books, crafts, and reading fun
📘Enjoy story time at the stage in Square Park with public safety and volunteers
📙Stop by the Discover Covington table for a bag to carry your books
🖌Facepainting by Powders and Paint face and body art for a nominal fee
🥤Visit our businesses around the downtown area to purchase book inspired treats!

There will be a half Square closure in place with the east and west sides of the Square closed to vehicular traffic. Books and supplies are limited and are first come, first served and you must be present to get your book/activity kits.
