We’re so sorry to say that we’ve lost another one of our members. David Norman was a faithful dancer and served as our Treasurer, until earlier this year. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Please keep his wife, Evelyn, and the rest of his family in your thoughts and prayers. There will be a service to honor him in Stockbridge on October 10, 2020.

We are saddened to learn one of our past members, Emy Mitcham, passed away this morning. Please keep her family in your prayers.🙏🏼😓

We will not be dancing on October 28th.

Our sympathy and prayers are with the family and friends of church member Joyce Ashworth, who died on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

The family has decided not to publish an obituary, but you may find the details for a memorial service and reception below:
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday morning, August 3 (in two weeks), here at First Presbyterian Church.

A reception in the Fellowship Hall will follow the service where you may greet the family and share in a time of fellowship together.

Please keep Joyce's three children Saralyn, Jerry, and Robby, and many other family members in your prayers.

Newton Hayriders has a lot of things happening with our members. We've lost two precious people within a week.
Please remember to keep our former caller, John Gibson, in your prayers. His wife, Marie, passed away last week. (She was Angie Sigman/Holzhausen's aunt).
Joyce Ashworth, our round dance cuer, passed away last night. Please keep Joyce's family in your prayers as they make her arrangements and deal with everything in the days ahead.
Several other of our dancers need prayer as they are dealing with some health issues that have been preventing them from dancing.❤

We lost our wonderful cuer, Joyce Ashworth, last night. She touched a lot of lives with her dancing and teaching skills!😢

Our cuer Joyce Ashworth went to Heaven last night. She will be missed by the Newton Hayriders and her square dance friends.

Prayers needed for Joyce Ashworth our round dance cuer . . .Joyce went to the hospital Saturday with a bad pain in her head. A stroke was ruled out but during the MRI she had a heart attack. They lost her for a little while but got her back. The secretary at the Presbyterian Church said this morning that there is little to no brain activity and she is not expected to make it. If she makes it more than a day or two, hospice will be called. She is in Emory Midtown in ICU. Only the family members are allowed to call on the phone.

Our sweet, beautiful Aunt Marie passed away this morning. She will be greatly missed in the square dance community and all the other places where she brought her sweet spirit.😥
Please keep everyone in your prayers. She and Uncle Johnny had been married for 62 years.
Marie Gibson's funeral will be Thursday morning, 11am @ Wages Funeral Home on Main Street in Stone Mtn.
Visitation tomorrow (Wednesday) from 6pm-8pm.

We are having a dance Monday, July 8th. It is a beach party theme.

There will be no dancing and lessons on April 15th.

We lost one of our honorary members last night. Linda Dennis (left in both pictures) put up a tremendous fight with brain cancer. We know she's at peace now, but please pray for her family and friends in the days and weeks ahead. 😢💔🙏
She will be missed!

We're having a Valentine's Day Dance on Monday, February 11th, from 7:30 PM until 9:30 PM.

Newton Hayriders are having an Elvis dance on Monday, January 14th, 7:30 - 9:30

We're having a Veterans Appreciation Dance tonight, November 10, from 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm. Everyone please bring a can of food for the local food bank.

We are not having anymore workshops this year. We are having a military appreciation dance on Saturday, November 10th at 7:30 - 9:30.

Newton Hayriders are dancing Monday night at 8 PM, it is a regular dance no theme. Starting in October our dance times will be from 7:30 - 9:30. Starting in October we will be dancing also on the 2nd Saturday night at 7:30. October 13th our theme will be a Fall Ball.

We will not dance on Monday, July 30th.

We are dancing, Monday, May 14th. It is our Mothers day dance. Starts at 8, we have lessons from 7-8.

We are having a dance tonight at 8 pm. No theme just a regular square dance.

We are starting basic square dance lessons, Monday, April 2nd at 7 pm.

We are having a regular square dance Monday night at 8 pm, March 26th.

Remember that square dance lessons start April 2nd at 7 -9.

We will be having our Christmas dance, Monday, December 11th at 8 pm. We will have a rounds workshop at 7 pm.

November 27 will be our next dance night from 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

No workshops for December, but we will have our Christmas Dance on December 11 from 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm. This will be our only dance in December.

No workshops for January. Our dances in January will be the 2nd and 4th Mondays (January 8 and January 22).
