First Baptist Academy, an extension of First Baptist Church of Covington, is located 45 minutes east of Atlanta. FBA serves families with children aged 6 weeks thru 4th grade. We are currently adding at least one elementary grade level per school year. The faculty and staff of FBA strive to create an environment in which students are recognized for who they are individually. We believe students sh

ould be exposed to a wide variety of experiences as part of a solid foundation that will enable them to understand and thrive in the world beyond school. Educating the whole child requires that teachers implement unique approaches to the multi-faceted, engaging curriculum. The learning opportunities reach beyond the core subject areas. From the rigorous academics to the arts, and God's presence and story are interwoven. We believe Him to be the author of all truth…whether secular or spiritual. FBA desires that students recognize God is not apart from all things, but is a part of all things.

First Baptist Academy is excited to announce publicly the hiring of Dr. Jeff Horner as
the new Head of School for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Dr. Horner has an
extensive background in education and most recently comes to us from his post as Vice-
President of Academics at Grapevine Faith Christian School in Texas.

Dr. Jeff Horner's first official day serving as Head of School at First Baptist Academy will be Friday, July 31. Please join us in praying for Dr. Horner and his family as they finalize the sale of their home in Texas and prepare for their move to Georgia.

Dr. Horner will be on campus on July 31 to begin working with our faculty and staff, and he will also be present for each of our Open House days on August 3–4. We are grateful for God's provision in bringing Dr. Horner to First Baptist Academy and look forward with great anticipation to an exciting and fruitful school year ahead.
